  • Resident accused of operating meth lab

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged after sheriff's deputies allegedly found a methamphetamine lab at his home.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office news release, deputies responded to 1881 Sportsman Lake Road on Monday at 3:53 p.m. to help social services workers complete a welfare check of three children living at the home.

    The report states that while at the home, deputies found a syringe containing suspected morphine and a significant amount of what they believed was packed methamphetamine.

    The following businesses were inspected by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department using the scale below.

    • 85 to 100, pass inspection.

    • 70 to 84, business must be re-inspected within 30 days.

    • Less than 70, a suspension of permit notice is sent to owner; if owner doesn't reply within 10 days, the permit will be revoked and the business will be closed.

  • Residents treated for smoke inhalation after fire

    Five Campbellsville residents were treated for smoke inhalation after their home caught on fire last Thursday morning.

    According to a Campbellsville Fire & Rescue news release, Campbellsville/Taylor County E-911 center received a call on Thursday morning at 7:17 a.m. reporting a fire at 104 W. Walnut St.

    Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire in a bedroom on the second floor of the home. The fire was contained quickly.

    The bedroom was heavily damaged. The rest of the home received smoke damage.

  • Resident accused of assaulting police

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officer Scotty Perian stopped a driver last Monday at 1:06 a.m. who he suspected was driving under the influence.

    The report states that Adam D. Powell, 26, of 100 Summit Drive, became combative with Perian during the traffic stop.

    Court records state that Powell smelled of alcohol, had red, glassy eyes and was fidgety.

  • Teenager charged with DUI

    A Campbellsville teenager has been arrested and charged with DUI.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officer Scotty Perian initiated a traffic stop last Tuesday at 1:15 a.m.

    The report states that Perian believed the driver of the vehicle was impaired.

    After further investigation, Perian arrested Justin D. Clark, 19, of 554 Crescent Hill Manor.

    Clark was charged with DUI and failure to maintain required insurance. He was lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center.

  • Teen injured in Smith Ridge crash

    A Campbellsville teenager was injured Friday after he struck a tree with his vehicle.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Tanner M. Ford, 17, was driving on Smith Ridge Road at 7:49 a.m. when he left the roadway and struck a tree with his 2001 Chevrolet pickup.

    The report states that Taylor County Fire & Rescue personnel transported Ford to Taylor Regional Hospital for treatment. At press time, no information was available as to his condition.
