  • Food inspections for Sept. 13

    The following restaurants and businesses were inspected by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department using the scale below.

    - 85 to 100, pass inspection

    - 70 to 84, restaurant/business must be reinspected within 30 days

    - Less than 70, a suspension of permit notice is sent to owner; if owner doesn't reply within 10 days, the permit will be revoked and the restaurant/business will be closed.

    - Wengerd's Market of Campbellsville received a health code score of 100, citing no violations.

  • Recent Fiscal Court Action

    In addition to setting tax rates, the Taylor Fiscal Court took action on several other issues at its regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 14. For more information on the tax rates, see the News-Journal's Sept. 16 issue.

    Also at the meeting:

    - Magistrate Matt Pendleton told magistrates that the Court's New Projects and Special Services Committee met Aug. 23 and discussed the purchase of a new truck for the Taylor County Animal Shelter.
