  • Man arrested after striking jail with vehicle

    Campbellsville Police arrested a Campbellsville man on Monday after he allegedly ran into the Taylor County Detention Center's sally port with his vehicle.

    According to a news release, police responded to a call of damage to the detention center at 8:17 p.m.

    Officer Brian Morgan saw Elwin F. Hardin, 71, of 115 Durrett St. driving a 2001 Chrysler.

    The report states that Elwin reportedly drove his vehicle into the overhead doors that lead to the sally-port area where police vehicles deliver prisoners.

  • Resident accused of stealing nearly $60,000 worth of items

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with first-degree burglary after he allegedly broke into someone's home and stole nearly $60,000 worth of items.

    John S. Roution, 26, of 365 Sharon Drive, was arrested Tuesday, June 5, at 9:24 p.m.

    According to Roution's arrest citation, he allegedly entered a home on Hunter Trace in Campbellsville and stole items such as firearms, jewelry, tools and more. The items are estimated at being worth $59,965.

    Bond was originally set at $100,000.

  • Man charged in sealed indictment

    A Campbellsville man has been charged with receiving more than $500 in stolen property in an indictment recently unsealed by a Taylor Circuit Court judge.

    A grand jury may seal an indictment if there is a possibility that the accused will try to evade police.

    Bond for John Roution, 26, of 365 Sharon Drive, was set at $2,000 cash. He was ordered to not have contact with his alleged victim.

    If convicted, Roution could be sentenced to as much as five years in prison.

  • KSP Statistics

    Kentucky State Police Post 15 recently released its May activity report. During the month of May, troopers worked 25 traffic crashes in the 11 counties of Taylor, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell and Washington.

    There were eight fatalities during the month of May in the Post 15 area:

    Tanner Mann of Jamestown was killed in Russell Co. on May 2. Justin Atwood and Jade Sullivan of Campbellsville were killed in Taylor County on May 5. Wilma Morgan of Columbia was killed in Taylor County on May 9.
