  • Resident cited for abusing child

    A Campbellsville man has been cited for abusing his daughter.

    Teddy Fonfara, 34, of 107 Twin Creeks Road, was served with a criminal complaint on Wednesday, July 11, by Taylor County Sheriff's Deputy William Rice.

    According to the complaint, Fonfara allegedly used excessive force with his hand to punish his daughter on May 20. He allegedly left bruising on her right thigh while she was in his custody.

    Fonfara was charged with fourth-degree assault.

    He is scheduled to be arraigned in Taylor District Court on Monday, July 30.

  • Resident charged with second DUI

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with his second DUI after Campbellsville Police officers saw him run off the road while driving.

    Jimmy N. Karnes, 67, of 1599 N. Garnett Road, was arrested Monday, July 16, at 11:04 p.m.

    According to Karnes' arrest citation, Officer Brandon Wilson stopped him on Gene Cash Road.

    Upon contact with Karnes, Wilson wrote in court records, he smelled of alcohol.

    Karnes performed several field sobriety tests and admitted to smoking marijuana.

  • Man pleads guilty to growing marijuana

    A Mannsville man has pleaded guilty to growing marijuana in Taylor County and will pay a fine and serve a probation sentence for his crimes.

    Ricky L. Rakes, 49, of 301 Christian Church Road, was cited on Tuesday, July 10, at 2:30 p.m.

    According to Rakes' citation, Kentucky State Police troopers wrote that he allegedly had 15 pots containing marijuana in his back yard hidden between two dog houses.

    Court records state that Rakes told troopers that the plants, which were found using a helicopter, belong to him.

  • Resident accused of intentionally causing crash

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly struck another vehicle intentionally.

    Byron Hash, 58, of 3322 Smith Ridge Road, was arrested Saturday, July 7, at 11:09 a.m.

    According to Hash's arrest warrant, Hash was traveling west on KY 210 on May 21 and allegedly struck another vehicle intentionally. The collision caused both vehicles to lose control, the warrant states, and a three-vehicle crash resulted.

  • Campbellsville man charged with soliciting minor on Facebook

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with soliciting who he believed to be a 15-year-old on Facebook for sex.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Brandon Swanson, 29, of 450 Greenbriar Drive, was arrested Monday, July 9, at 12:45 a.m.
