  • Resident accused of breaking into home

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with breaking into a home on Vintage Lane.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officers received a report on Sunday, March 31, of a break-in at 92 Vintage Lane in Campbellsville.

    Officer Charlie Houk investigated. The homeowner described the incident as someone knocking on the door, the report states. When the owner opened the door to see who was outside, the perpetrator attempted to force his way into the home.

  • Michigan residents charged with selling drugs in Taylor County

    Two Michigan residents have been arrested and charged with selling drugs in Taylor County.

    Campbellsville Police officers arrested the two last Monday after receiving a tip about possible drug activity at Lucky Vista Motel.

    Officer Daniel Forbis responded and began an investigation by verifying the room number and the identities of the occupants.

    The occupants gave Forbis permission to search the room and officers found cash and drugs.

  • Resident accused of stealing vehicle

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with theft after he allegedly stole someone's vehicle.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office news release, deputies arrested John G. Kessinger, 55, of 1356 Saloma Road, on Wednesday at 4:41 p.m.

    The report states that Kessinger was apprehended near Allstar Food Mart on KY 55.

    The owner of the vehicle called police and reported that her vehicle had been stolen from the Food Mart, where she was working.

  • Resident charged in sealed indictment

     

    A Campbellsville man has been charged with selling oxycodone in an indictment recently unsealed by a Taylor Circuit Court judge.

    A grand jury may seal an indictment if there is a possibility the accused will try to evade police.

    Beril Hoosier, 67, of 407A N. Jackson St., was charged with first-degree selling 10 or more dosage units of oxycodone, second or subsequent offense.

    Bond was set at 10 percent of $15,000. Hoosier was ordered to not consume any drugs or alcohol and to be monitored.

  • Police arrest two after chase

     

    Campbellsville Police arrested two Campbellsville residents on Monday after one allegedly ran from police and the other helped him get away.

    According to a Campbellsville Police news release, Officer Ryan Jewell was patrolling in the south Campbellsville area on Carden Street at 3:40 p.m.

    The release states that Jewell saw a vehicle being driven by a female driver and a male passenger and the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt.

  • Woman arrested, charged after fleeing from police

     

    A Campbellsville woman has been arrested and charged after she allegedly fled from police.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officers made a traffic stop to begin investigating the theft of a registration plate on Monday.

    Officer Ryan Jewell made the stop at 3:40 p.m. for failure to wear seat belts.

    The release states that the passenger in the vehicle exited it and then fled on foot. The driver also left the scene.

    The vehicle was later located at a residence on McNary Street, the release states.

  • Resident charged with meth possession

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with having methamphetamine.

    According to a Campbellsville Police news release, officers searched a home at 210 McNary St. on Monday at 4 p.m. looking for someone who had been driving a vehicle found at the home.

    During an investigation, Sgt. Shannon Wilson found what he believed to be narcotics and drug supplies on a table.

    Field tests confirmed the substance as a methamphetamine.
