    • Larry N. Bright, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, second offense, with aggravator, $893, 14 days in jail, alcohol drug education program, license suspended for 12 months.

  • One injured in Smith Ridge crash

    A Campbellsville woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Smith Ridge Road last Thursday.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office news release, Chicquita Whitlock, 51, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu east on Smith Ridge Road at 3:48 p.m.

    She lost control of her vehicle, the report states, drove across the westbound lane and struck a fence.

    Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS personnel transported Whitlock to Taylor Regional Hospital for treatment of a leg injury. She was treated and released.

  • One injured in KY 210 crash

    A Bradfordsville woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash on KY 210 on Wednesday night.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Sharlet Whitehead, 38, was traveling east in a 2005 Dodge Durango at 5:33 p.m. when she attempted to pass vehicles and left the roadway. Whitehead struck a guardrail and continued across both lanes of traffic and left the eastbound shoulder.

    The report states that Whitehead was ejected from her vehicle and flown to University of Louisville for treatment.

    At press time, she was listed in fair condition.

  • Food Inspections for March 28

    The following businesses were inspected by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department using the scale below.

    • 85 to 100, pass inspection.

    • 70 to 84, business must be reinspected within 30 days.

    • Less than 70, a suspension of permit notice is sent to owner; if owner doesn't reply within 10 days, the permit will be revoked and the business will be closed.

  • Mother accused of endangering her children

    A Campbellsville woman has been accused of locking her children inside a van while she was inside her home using drugs.

    Tasha M. Miller, 31, of 824 Farms Ridge Road, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 14.

    According to Miller's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Brandon Wilson was dispatched to a home on Buckner Street home after receiving a report that a baby was crying inside a van parked on the street.

  • Resident charged with abusing child

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with abusing a child.

    Kenneth aka Cody D. Borders, 21, of 1504 E. Broadway, was arrested Tuesday, March 19, at 7:47 p.m.

    According to Borders' arrest warrant, he alleged grabbed a young boy on March 15 or 16 and caused his arm to snap.

    Borders was charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child younger than 12, which is a Class C felony punishable by as much as 10 years in prison.

  • Resident charged with growing marijuana

    A Campbellsville man has been charged with growing marijuana after police came to his home looking for another man.

    Joseph R. Roberts, 38, of 131 Debra Kay Ave., was charged Thursday, March 14, at 11:10 p.m.

    According to Roberts' arrest citation, Kentucky State Police troopers went to the home on Debra Kay Avenue to serve an arrest warrant issued for another man.

  • Sheriff Statistics

    The Taylor County Sheriff's Office released its February activity report recently.

    The report includes 16 cases opened, 65 criminal arrests, 15 traffic collisions worked, three injury collisions worked, 62 arrest warrants served, 124 civil papers served, 47 citations issued, six DUI arrests, 540 complaints answered, 102 vehicles inspected, 1,410 hours worked and 12,920 miles driven.
