  • Resident charged in sealed indictment

     

    A Campbellsville man has been charged with selling oxycodone in an indictment recently unsealed by a Taylor Circuit Court judge.

    A grand jury may seal an indictment if there is a possibility the accused will try to evade police.

    Beril Hoosier, 67, of 407A N. Jackson St., was charged with first-degree selling 10 or more dosage units of oxycodone, second or subsequent offense.

    Bond was set at 10 percent of $15,000. Hoosier was ordered to not consume any drugs or alcohol and to be monitored.

  • Police arrest two after chase

     

    Campbellsville Police arrested two Campbellsville residents on Monday after one allegedly ran from police and the other helped him get away.

    According to a Campbellsville Police news release, Officer Ryan Jewell was patrolling in the south Campbellsville area on Carden Street at 3:40 p.m.

    The release states that Jewell saw a vehicle being driven by a female driver and a male passenger and the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt.

  • Woman arrested, charged after fleeing from police

     

    A Campbellsville woman has been arrested and charged after she allegedly fled from police.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officers made a traffic stop to begin investigating the theft of a registration plate on Monday.

    Officer Ryan Jewell made the stop at 3:40 p.m. for failure to wear seat belts.

    The release states that the passenger in the vehicle exited it and then fled on foot. The driver also left the scene.

    The vehicle was later located at a residence on McNary Street, the release states.

  • Resident charged with meth possession

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with having methamphetamine.

    According to a Campbellsville Police news release, officers searched a home at 210 McNary St. on Monday at 4 p.m. looking for someone who had been driving a vehicle found at the home.

    During an investigation, Sgt. Shannon Wilson found what he believed to be narcotics and drug supplies on a table.

    Field tests confirmed the substance as a methamphetamine.

  • Food Inspections for April 4

    The following businesses were inspected by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department using the scale below.

    • 85 to 100, pass inspection.

    • 70 to 84, business must be reinspected within 30 days.

    • Less than 70, a suspension of permit notice is sent to owner; if owner doesn't reply within 10 days, the permit will be revoked and the business will be closed.

  • Resident accused of smoking marijuana with minor

     

    A Campbellsville teenager has been arrested and charged with smoking marijuana with a 16-year-old.

    Stevi Shirley, 18, of 84 Anna Court, was arrested Monday, March 25, at 11:54 p.m.

    According to Shirley's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Scotty Perian received a complaint of possible illegal activity at the Anna Court home.

    Upon arrival, Perian wrote in court records, Shirley answered the door and he allegedly smelled marijuana coming from the residence.

  • Resident charged with selling heroin

     

    A Campbellsville man has been charged with selling heroin in an indictment recently unsealed by a Taylor Circuit Court judge.

    A grand jury may seal an indictment if there is a possibility that the accused will try to evade police.

    Jason Yocum, 30, of 110 E. Walnut St., was charged in two separate indictments with two counts of first-degree selling less than 2 grams of heroin.

    Bond in one case was set at $2,000 cash, and at $2,500 cash in the other.
