On the Record

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, a time set aside to recognize the more than 200,000 individuals throughout the U.S. who play critical roles in the delivery of public safety services.

Often called the "unsung heroes of public safety," these men and women provide a lifeline to residents in need and officers in the field. They serve as an unseen, but vital link in keeping law enforcement officers and the public safe at all times of the day or night.

It is the policy of the Central Kentucky News-Journal to publish public records as they are reported by various agencies. Names appearing in "On the Record" are published without exception, to preserve the fairness and impartiality of the CKNJ and as a news service to our readers.

Traffic

• Daniel J. Jolly, speeding, $143, state traffic school; no/expired registration plates, no/expired Kentucky registration receipt, proof filed, defendant stipulated probable cause, dismissed.

A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with DUI and several other traffic violations.

Joshua E. Cochran, 32, of 203B Sheridan Drive, was arrested Thursday, March 28, at 10:03 p.m.

According to Cochran's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Roy Rodgers saw him driving recklessly in front of another off-duty officer.

After a search, officers found that Cochran had three outstanding arrest warrants.

A Campbellsville man was injured in a one-vehicle crash last Sunday on Old Pitman Road.

According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Benjamin L. Clark, 27, of 1075 Sanders Road, was traveling east on Old Pitman Road when he lost control of his 1992 Chevrolet S-10 truck and struck a culvert.

The report states that Clark traveled across Forest Hills Drive, struck a sign post and then traveled about 50 feet into a yard before coming to a rest.
