  • One injured in KY 55 crash

    A Columbia woman was injured after her vehicle overturned on KY 55 on Tuesday morning.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Jamie Flatt, 20, was driving a 1998 Ford Escort south on KY 55 at 4:15 a.m. when she swerved to miss striking a deer in the roadway. Flatt ran off the roadway and overturned.

    She was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital for treatment and later taken to University of Louisville Hospital. At press time, she was listed in stable condition.

    Taylor County Sheriff's Deputy Rodney Cox investigated.

    • 85 to 100, pass inspection.

    • 70 to 84, business must be reinspected within 30 days.

  • One injured in Old Lebanon Road crash

    A Campbellsville woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, deputies responded to a report of a crash at 1:28 p.m.

    The report states that Kristi Hickerson, 52, of 3520 Old Lebanon Road in Campbellsville, was backing out of a driveway in a 2001 Toyota Corolla and attempting to turn south on Old Lebanon Road.

    Debbie Murphy, 59, of Campbellsville was heading north on Old Lebanon Road in a 1999 Infinity.

  • Juvenile struck by vehicle

    A 13-year-old teenager has been treated and released after he pulled his bicycle into the path of a vehicle on Saturday.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, the teenager, who is not named in the report, was traveling north on Davis Road at 2:53 p.m. on a bicycle.

    The report states that, at the intersection of Davis Road and U.S. 68, the teenager pulled into the path of a 2004 Pontiac driven by Hannah Coomer, 22, of old U.S. 68 in Campbellsville. The teenager struck the right side of the vehicle.

  • One injured in Lone Valley crash

    A Columbia man was injured Saturday after crashing his motorcycle on Lone Valley Road.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Allan Kyle Young, 20, was traveling east on Lone Valley Road at 4:30 p.m. As he attempted to drive his 2007 Suzuki motorcycle around a curve, the report states, Young went off the road and overturned into a residential yard.

    Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS personnel transported Young to Taylor Regional Hospital for treatment of head and hand injuries. At press time, no information was available as to his condition.

  • Taylor County Sheriff's Office Statistics

    The Taylor County Sheriff's Office released its March activity report recently.

    The report includes 13 cases opened, 122 criminal arrests, 23 traffic collisions worked, four injury collisions worked, 112 arrest warrants served, 169 civil papers served, 35 citations issued, 562 complaints answered, 72 vehicles inspected, 1,524 hours worked and 10,837 miles driven.

  • One injured in KY 527 crash

    A Campbellsville woman was injured Saturday in a one-vehicle crash on Ky 527.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Barbara J. Tucker, 47, of 5070 Saloma Road, was traveling north on KY 527 at 4:23 p.m. when her 2002 Dodge crossed the centerline of traffic as Tucker met another vehicle.

    The report states that Tucker overcorrected and lost control of her vehicle. Tucker went off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned. The vehicle came to a rest on its side, heading south.
