  • Kentucky State Police statistics

    During the month of October, there were 23 traffic collisions investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Taylor, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell and Washington.

    There were three fatalities during the month of October in the Post 15 area.

    Joshua Hale of Gamaliel was killed in Monroe County on Oct. 7. Lilly D. Poff of Jamestown was killed in Casey County on Oct. 24. Sean Wilkerson of Campbellsville was killed in Taylor County on Oct. 25.

  • Resident accused of assaulting his father

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly assaulted his father.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, deputies received a complaint on Wednesday at 5:51 p.m. that an assault had taken place at a home on Burdick School Road.

    The report states that deputies arrived and learned that Vincent A. Smith, 24, of 90 Burdick School Road, had allegedly assaulted his father.

  • Resident accused of exposing himself

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly exposed his genitals to a Campbellsville University student on Oct. 17.

    James Steele, 22, of 3332 New Lebanon Road, was arrested Thursday, Oct. 18, at 3:15 p.m.

    According to Steele's arrest warrant, he also allegedly approached three other CU students and alarmed them.

    Steele was charged with second-degree indecent exposure, a misdemeanor offense, and harassment.

    Bond was set at $500. Steele is scheduled to appear in Taylor District Court on Nov. 19 for arraignment.

  • Resident charged with third DUI

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with DUI and other charges after he allegedly drove while intoxicated.

    David L. Shrout, 46, of 108 Gowdy St., was arrested Sunday, Oct. 21, at 6:12 p.m.

    According to Shrout's arrest citation, he was allegedly driving on East Broadway and ran off the roadway.

    Campbellsville Police Officer Scotty Perian wrote that Shrout swerved into the east and westbound lanes.

  • Columbia man charged with fourth DUI

    A Columbia man has been arrested and charged after allegedly driving while intoxicated in Taylor County.

    Brandon L. Skaggs, 33, of 64 Christine Sano Road, was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 8:16 p.m.

    According to Skaggs' arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Department received a call reporting a possible DUI in the Dollar Tree parking lot on KY 210.

  • Sheriff's deputies find stolen property

    Taylor County Sheriff's deputies recently investigated a tip from the Lexington Metro Police Department that some property stolen in the Lexington area is in Campbellsville.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office news release, the property that was reportedly stolen was allegedly at a home at 90 Reynolds Road.

    Deputies went to the home and found two motorcycles and a rifle that were reported stolen in the Lexington area.

    The offices are now conducting a joint investigation to find the parties involved with the crime.

  • Three injured in U.S. 68 crash

    Three people were injured but have been treated and released after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 68 on Monday.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Charles Grider, 55, of 3027 Dry Creek Road in Elk Horn, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer west on U.S. 68 at 2:47 p.m. Brenda Judd, 54, of 311 W. Hodgenville Ave. in Greensburg, was driving a 2006 Dodge Stratus east.

    The report states that Grider told officers that a vehicle was stopped to turn left onto Black Gnat Road, but that he didn't notice the vehicle had stopped.

  • Resident accused of running from police

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly ran from law enforcement officers.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Trent Waymon, 28, was arrested at Taylor Boulevard on an active arrest warrant at 12:56 p.m. on Monday.

    While being arrested, the report states, Waymon fled on foot from officers on two occasions.
