  • Louisville woman charged with stealing property

     

    A Louisville woman has been arrested and charged after she allegedly stole a vehicle.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, deputies arrested Cecilia M. Grimsley, 31, of Powell Avenue, last Tuesday at 8:45 p.m. at a home on Morgan Trail in Campbellsville.

    The report states that Grimsley was allegedly in possession of a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Louisville. She was charged with receiving less than $10,000 in stolen property.

  • Campbellsville police recover stolen vehicle

     

    Campbellsville Police Department arrested a Harrodsburg man on Sunday after officers received a report of a man attempting to sell a stolen utility trailer.

    A police report states that officers were told a male person was approaching shoppers at Walmart parking lot attempting to sell a utility trailer, which the caller said appeared to be suspicious.

    Campbellsville Police Officer Scotty Perian responded and asked the price of the trailer, which was extremely low.

  • One injured in Wilson Creek crash

    A Columbia man was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Wilson Creek Road on Wednesday.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Charles E. Noreika, 56, of Roley Yuma Road, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet at 5:30 a.m. when he left the roadway and went over an embankment.

    Noreika was trapped inside the vehicle and freed by Taylor County Fire & Rescue personnel.

  • One injured in two-vehicle crash

    One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash last Monday.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 68 and KY 210 at 6:39 a.m.

    Dianna Smith, 22, of Campbellsville, driving a 1997 Ford Escort, was traveling east on U.S. 68, attempting to make a left turn onto KY 210, when she turned into the path of a 2004 Chevrolet Impala traveling west on U.S. 68 driven by Emily Cundiff, 49, of Campbellsville.

    Smith and Cundiff were not injured in the collision.

  • Minit Mart robbed Friday morning

    Minit Mart near Taylor Regional Hospital was robbed at gunpoint on Friday morning.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, the robbery happened at 9:09 a.m. when a clerk said a white female about 5 feet 6 inches tall came in the store wearing a ski mask.

    The woman said she had a gun, and, after taking money from the cash register, ran away.

    The woman's vehicle has been described as a red four-door vehicle believed to be an Oldsmobile Alero.

  • Man robbed at gunpoint

    A Campbellsville man was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday night.

    According to a Kentucky State Police news release, Leonard Macon Jr., 22, was robbed at gunpoint just as he was entering Wendy's at 5:07 p.m. An undetermined amount of cash was taken and the perpetrators fled the scene.

    Detective Jamie Richard is investigating.

    Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call KSP at (800) 222-5555.

  • KSP Statistics

    Kentucky State Police recently released its activity report for November.

    During the month of November, there were 30 traffic collisions investigated by the KSP working in the Post 15 area in Taylor, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell and Washington counties.

    There were two fatalities during the month of November in the Post 15 area. Virginia Simpson of Bardstown was killed in Marion County on Nov. 10. Joseph D. Raikes of Loretto was killed in Marion County on Nov. 11.
