District Civil Settled

A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly assaulted jail staff while in custody at the Taylor County Detention Center.

Aaron Gibson, 24, of 352 W. Broadway, Apt. 6, was arrested Jan. 25 at 5:09 p.m.

According to Gibson's arrest citation, he was originally arrested and charged with assaulting a woman by throwing her on a bed and choking her.

A Greensburg man was injured Friday in a one-vehicle crash on Poplar Grove Road.

According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Department report, Robert McCubbins, 32, was driving a 2004 Toyota truck at 4 a.m. when he slid on ice, left the roadway and struck a tree.

McCubbins was taken to Taylor Regional Hospital for treatment and then transferred to University of Louisville Hospital.

At press time, a hospital representative said McCubbins was not listed as a patient at University of Louisville.

Preliminary statistics indicate that 11 people died in 11 separate crashes on Kentucky's roadways from Monday, Jan. 21, through Sunday, Jan. 27.

Two single fatality motor vehicle crashes occurred in Jefferson County. One of the fatalities was not wearing a seat belt.

Single fatality motor vehicle crashes occurred in Adair, Christian, Clark, Estill, Laurel, Nelson and Pike counties. The victims in Christian, Estill, Laurel, Nelson and Pike were not wearing seat belts. The Pike County crash involved the suspected use of alcohol.
