  • Kentucky State Police statistics

    During the month of January, Kentucky State Police troopers investigated 25 traffic collisions in the Post 15 area, which includes Taylor, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell and Washington.

    There were three fatal collisions during the month of January in the Post 15 area.

    Phillip Martin, 20, of Knifley, died on Jan. 2 in Taylor County.

    Colleen Colee, 19, of Indianapolis, Ind., died on Jan. 12 in Metcalfe County.

    Michael Beal, 26, of Hustonville died on Jan. 31 in Casey County.

  • Three arrested, charged with burglary

     

    Three men, two from Campbellsville and one from Greensburg, have been arrested and charged with burglarizing a Taylor County home.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, deputies received information last November that a burglary had occurred in the Wilson Creek area.

    After an investigation, evidence was found and three people were interviewed. The report states that, after the interview, the three admitted to taking the items that had been reported as stolen.

    The following businesses were inspected by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department using the scale below.

    • 85 to 100, pass inspection.

    • 70 to 84, business must be re-inspected within 30 days.

    • Less than 70, a suspension of permit notice is sent to owner; if owner doesn't reply within 10 days, the permit will be revoked and the business will be closed.
