    • 70 to 84, business must be reinspected within 30 days.

  • Resident charged with sodomy, sexual abuse

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with sodomizing and sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl.

    Wesley "Wes" W. Gann, 30, of 457 Chaney Pike Road, was arrested Thursday, Feb. 14, at 6:30 p.m.

    According to court records, Gann was arrested in Ohio and waived extradition to Kentucky.

    Gann's arrest warrant states that he allegedly engaged in oral sex with the girl and fondled and digitally penetrated her while a 6-year-old boy watched.

  • Resident accused of falsifying unemployment claim

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with falsifying unemployment benefits paperwork and receiving more than $5,000 to which he wasn't entitled.

    James R. Hare, 52, of 627 Spears Road, was arrested Sunday, Feb. 10, at 5:19 p.m.

    According to Hare's arrest warrant, he allegedly made false statements to prevent a reduction in his employment benefits between Nov. 14, 2009, and March 20, 2010.

    The warrant states that Hare received $5,408 in insurance benefits that he shouldn't have.

  • One injured after crashing into telephone poll

    A Campbellsville woman was injured Saturday after she crashed her vehicle into a telephone poll.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Ethel Jean Greene, 71, of 398 W. Blue Hole Road, was traveling north on Old Columbia Road at 3:52 p.m. in a 2005 Buick Lacrosse when she left the roadway and struck a telephone poll. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest upside down.

    Taylor County Fire & Rescue personnel removed Greene from the vehicle and transported her to Taylor Regional Hospital. She was treated and released.

  • Sheriff Statistics

    Taylor County Sheriff's Office released its January activity report recently.

    The report includes 25 cases opened, 132 criminal arrests, 27 traffic collisions worked, four injury collisions worked, 109 arrest warrants served, 170 civil papers served, 68 citations issued, three DUI arrests, 563 complaints answered, 109 vehicles inspected, 1,505 hours worked and 8,614 miles driven.

  • Kentucky State Police Statistics

    During the month of January, there were 16 traffic collisions investigated by state police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Taylor, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell and Washington.

    There were two fatal crashes during the month of January in the Post 15 area.

    Glenda Downey of Jamestown was killed in Adair County on Jan. 21 and Willie L. Jones of Edmonton was killed in Metcalfe County on Jan. 23.

    This brings the yearly fatality count to two, compared with three through this same period in 2012.

  • Resident charged with DUI, selling marijuana

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with selling marijuana after being stopped by law enforcement for failing to use a turn signal.

    Justin D. Clark, 19, of 710 High Pine, Apt. 2, was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 1:45 a.m.

    According to Clark's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Scotty Perian saw him allegedly fail to use a signal when turning. Perian initiated a traffic stop.

    When approaching the vehicle, Perian wrote in court records, he smelled marijuana and saw smoke coming from the vehicle.
