  • Police respond to shooting

    A Campbellsville man is dead after shooting himself on Saturday.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officers responded on Saturday at approximately 3:30 a.m. to 103 Sand Point Drive in Campbellsville to a report of a gunshot wound.

    Officers determined that Bon E. Clark, 26, of Campbellsville sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

    Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS personnel transported him to Taylor Regional Hospital. He was later flown to University of Louisville for treatment.

  • Two men stabbed after break-in

    Two Campbellsville men have been treated and released after being stabbed during a fight.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report released on Monday, officers responded at 10:14 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, to a reported break-in at 606 Walling Ave. in Campbellsville.

    Upon arrival, officers found two male subjects inside the residence; Marvin Brown of Ray Court, and Marcus Crowder, who lives at the Walling Avenue home. They both had stab wounds, the report states.

  • Taylor County Sheriff's Office Statistics

    The Taylor County Sheriff's Office released its April activity report recently.

    The report includes 31 cases opened, 127 criminal arrests, 25 traffic collisions worked, seven injury collisions worked, 104 arrest warrants served, 113 civil papers served, 35 citations issued, two DUI arrests, 562 complaints answered, 28 vehicles inspected, 1,460 hours worked and 10,458 miles driven.

    • 70 to 84, business must be re-inspected within 30 days.

  • Woman charged with selling meth after overdose

     

    A Campbellsville woman has been arrested and charged with making meth after another woman at her home overdosed.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officers responded, along with Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS personnel, last Wednesday to a call reporting a possible drug overdose at 207 E. Walnut St.

    The report states that EMS personnel found Lori Gardner unresponsive at the home. She was treated for drug ingestion.

    Officers Scotty Perian, Roy Rodgers and Bryon Simpson arrived at the home and began an investigation.

  • Inmate charged with assaulting jail staff

     

    A Campbellsville man currently incarcerated at the Taylor County Detention Center has been charged with assaulting a jail staff member while in custody.

    John Kessinger, 55, of 1356 Saloma Road, was charged last Monday at 12:30 p.m.

    According to Kessinger's arrest warrant, he allegedly injured Sgt. William Milby when charging out of his jail cell on April 14.

    Kessinger is being incarcerated on a theft charge.

  • Resident runs from police, charged with selling drugs

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with selling drugs after he allegedly ran from police when they attempted to serve an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

    On Friday, April 26, Campbellsville Police Officer Branden Wilson stopped Johnathan J. Gurley, 25, for driving on a suspended driver's license.

    Court records state that after Gurley stopped his vehicle, he exited the vehicle and ran away. After a short pursuit, Wilson and Campbellsville Police Officer Roy Rodgers apprehended Gurley.

  • Campbellsville woman injured in Lebanon crash

    A Campbellsville woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Lebanon last Tuesday.

    According to a Kentucky State Police news release, troopers investigated the crash, which occurred at 11:50 a.m. four miles west of Lebanon at the junction of U.S. 68 and Lovers Lane.

    The report states that Joseph Farmer, 20, of Lebanon, was driving a 2007 Ford Fusion east on U.S. 68 when he read-ended a 1993 Chevrolet Lumina.
