  • Man injured after crashing motorcycle

    A Campbellsville man was injured after crashing his motorcycle while trying to avoid hitting a dog in the roadway.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Terry Gribbins, 50, of Berry Road, was driving a 2000 Suzuki motorcycle west on Berry Road last Saturday at about 5:30 p.m.

    The report states that a dog ran into the path of Gribbins' motorcycle. After Gribbins struck the dog, he lost control of his motorcycle, ran into a ditch and overturned.

  • Kentucky State Police statistics

    During the month of March, there were 24 traffic collisions investigated by Kentucky State Police troopers working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Taylor, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell and Washington.

    There were two fatal collisions during the month of March in the Post 15 area.

    Zachary Neal Stephens, 26, of Russell Springs Ky., was killed on March 2 in Russell County and Martha L. Bragg, 66, of Knob Lick was killed on March 22 in Metcalfe County.

  • Resident charged with second DUI offense

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with his second DUI offense.

    William Gaddie, 29, whose last documented address is 118 W. Walnut St., was arrested last Wednesday at 6:09 p.m.

    According to court records, Campbellsville Police Officer Roy Rodgers saw Gaddie driving on dirt bike on South Columbia Avenue and he knew Gaddie had a suspended driver's license.

    Upon contact with Gaddie, according to records, he didn't respond to Rodgers' commands and smelled of alcohol.

  • Resident charged with selling cocaine

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with selling cocaine.

    Joshua Barbour, 31, of Hamilton Street, was arrested last Tuesday at 2:08 p.m.

    According to court records, Campbellsville Police officers responded to a complaint of drug activity on Hamilton Street.

    Officer David Tucker responded to the scene and wrote in court records that he saw three black men in a car.

    • David Courtez Johnson, possession of marijuana, $378, 30 days in jail probated for 24 months; public intoxication of a controlled substance, excluding alcohol, dismissed.

  • Resident charged with cruelty to animals

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly shot a dog with a gun.

    Marvin C. Glidewell, 80, of 1312 Bambridge Way, was arrested on Saturday, March 22, at 12:06 p.m.

    According to court records, Glidewell allegedly chased a dog through a yard, which damaged the yard and a vehicle, and then shot the dog with a 20-gauge shotgun. The incident allegedly happened on Aug. 26. Taylor County Sheriff's deputies investigated.

  • One injured in Broadway crash

    A Campbellsville man was injured when he was struck by a vehicle on Broadway last Thursday.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officers responded to a report of an injury accident on Broadway at 2:30 p.m.

    The report states that Catherine Sexton, 76, of Campbellsville, was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix and Joseph Smith, 77, of Campbellsville, was crossing Broadway when the driver's side of Sexton's vehicle struck him.

    Smith was examined by Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS personnel but refused treatment.
