  • Resident charged with cruelty to animals

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly shot a dog with a gun.

    Marvin C. Glidewell, 80, of 1312 Bambridge Way, was arrested on Saturday, March 22, at 12:06 p.m.

    According to court records, Glidewell allegedly chased a dog through a yard, which damaged the yard and a vehicle, and then shot the dog with a 20-gauge shotgun. The incident allegedly happened on Aug. 26. Taylor County Sheriff's deputies investigated.

  • One injured in Broadway crash

    A Campbellsville man was injured when he was struck by a vehicle on Broadway last Thursday.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officers responded to a report of an injury accident on Broadway at 2:30 p.m.

    The report states that Catherine Sexton, 76, of Campbellsville, was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix and Joseph Smith, 77, of Campbellsville, was crossing Broadway when the driver's side of Sexton's vehicle struck him.

    Smith was examined by Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS personnel but refused treatment.

  • Resident charged with stealing jewelry

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with stealing a box full of jewelry.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office news release, deputies were dispatched on Saturday at about 5 p.m. to a report of a theft from a home on A. Cox Road.

    The report states that the caller told deputies she found Christopher Johnson, 24, of A. Cox Road in Elk Horn, in a building on her property with a lock box that he had allegedly taken from her home. The caller said after she caught Johnson with the box, he dropped it and left.

  • Sex offender charged with using Facebook

     

    A Campbellsville man, who is a convicted sex offender, has been arrested and charged with violating the terms of his status by using Facebook.

    Kevin James Walls, 43, of 213 Arbor Lane, was arrested Monday, March 17, at 10:39 a.m.

    According to court records, Walls allegedly used the Facebook social network on Feb. 19, which allows people younger than 18 to access it.

    Walls was charged with sex offender instant message/chat/social network use, which is a misdemeanor offense.

  • Man charged with selling drugs

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with selling illegal drugs.

    Julian L. Underwood, 28, of 118 Carnation St., was arrested Tuesday, March 18, at 7:41 p.m.

    According to Underwood's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Jonathan Leigh stopped Underwood's vehicle for having an expired license plate and several active warrants for his arrest.

    Court records state Underwood's vehicle had a stolen license plate on it, though he told Leigh he bought the vehicle two weeks ago but only had its title.

  • Man charged with assault, menacing

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with assault and menacing.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, deputies responded to the home at 4660 New Lebanon Road in response to a report of gunshots fired inside.

    Upon arrival, the report states, deputies found Phillip C. Seaborne, 50, who lives at the New Lebanon Road home, extremely intoxicated. The report states that deputies determined that Seaborne had fired a weapon inside his home.
