  • Arrest made in vehicle break-ins

     

    Campbellsville Police arrested a person on Saturday at about 5:40 p.m. whom they believe is responsible for a vehicle break-in reported earlier this month.

    John David Smith, 37, of Campbellsville, was arrested and charged with receiving less than $10,000 in stolen property and he was lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center.

    Campbellsville Police are still investigating several other vehicle break-ins that could result in additional charges and arrests.

  • Police investigating car thefts

    Campbellsville Police officers are investigating car thefts and want to remind residents that they shouldn't leave their vehicles unlocked.

    The holiday season is upon us and police say thieves are targeting residential neighborhoods and vehicles left unlocked in search of valuables.

    Police are asking for help identifying those involved and preventing the crimes by keeping vehicles locked.

    Anyone with information about these or other crimes is asked to call Campbellsville Police at (270) 465-4122.

  • Resident charged with stealing utility trailer

     

    A Campbellsville resident has been arrested and charged with theft after she allegedly stole a utility trailer, car parts and a hay baler.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, deputies arrested Shelby Roberts, 21, of Coakley Street, and charged her with three counts of receiving more than $500 but less than $10,000 in stolen property.

    According to the report, Roberts was allegedly found in possession of a stolen utility trailer on Oct. 31. The trailer was allegedly taken from the Saloma area.

  • Taylor County Sheriff's Office statistics

    Taylor County Sheriff's Office released its October activity report recently.

    The report includes 27 cases opened, 143 criminal arrests, 24 traffic collisions worked, five injury collisions worked, 140 arrest warrants served, 156 civil papers served, 30 citations issued, three DUI arrests, 479 complaints answered, 153 vehicles inspected, 1,377 hours worked and 10,546 miles driven.

  • Woman accused of assault, attempting to escape from police

     

    A Campbellsville woman has been arrested and charged after she allegedly assaulted someone and then attempted to escape from police custody.

    Windy Buckner, 35, of Duffy Street, was arrested at 4:28 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8.

    According to Buckner's arrest citation, she was extremely intoxicated and pushed someone off a porch at her home. At the time, records state, her blood alcohol level was .233, higher than the legal limit of .08.

  • Woman accused of bringing drugs to jail

     

    A Campbellsville woman has been arrested and charged with taking drugs to jail.

    Patricia A. Moore, no age given, was arrested last Monday at 3 p.m.
