  • Campbellsville Police to participate in 'Click It or Ticket'

    Motorists who refuse to wear their seat belts should beware. The 2013 national "Click It or Ticket" seat belt enforcement mobilization kicks off May 20 to help save lives by cracking down on those who don't buckle up.

    Campbellsville Police Department is joining with other state and local law enforcement officers and highway safety advocates across the country to help save more lives by strongly enforcing seat belt laws around the clock.

    • 70 to 84, business must be re-inspected within 30 days.

  • Spurlington Road home damaged in fire

    A home on Spurlington Road was damaged by fire on Monday night.

    According to a Taylor County Fire & Rescue report, personnel were dispatched to 5066 Spurlington Road at 10:12 p.m.

    Upon arrival, firefighters found the two-story home, which belongs to Thomas Tungate, with heavy smoke showing from both floors.

    According to the report, the fire appears to have started in a wall near a breaker box on the first floor and spread through the wall to the room above.

  • Resident charged with sexual misconduct

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with sexual misconduct.

    Robbie S. Hughes, 51, of East Meadow Creek Road, was arrested Thursday, May 2, at 2:11 p.m.

    According to Hughes' arrest warrant, he allegedy had sexual contact with 6- and 7-year-old girls on June 29, 2012. Records state that Hughes allegedly told the two girls to pull their underwear down to see their genitals.

    Hughes was charged with two counts of sexual misconduct, which is a misdemeanor offense.
