  • CU announces spring dean's, president's lists

    Campbellsville University Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Frank Cheatham has announced the academic honors' list for the spring 2012 semester.

    The academic honors' list recognizes students who achieve a GPS of 3.5 or above for the semester with a course load of at least 12 hours.

    The spring 2012 academic honors' list includes a total of 460 students, with 188 achieving a 4.0 GPA and having been named to the president's list.

  • Center for Education accepting applications

    Campbellsville Christian Church Center for Education is currently taking registration applications for the 2012-2013 school year.

    Classes include kindergarten, pre-kindergarten (4-year-olds) and glow worms (3-year-olds).

    Kindergarten students will attend on Monday through Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Pre-kindergarten attends on Monday through Thursday from noon to 3 p.m.

    Glow worms will attend on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 to 11:20 a.m.

  • Board creates three new jobs

    There are job openings at the Taylor County School System.

    Last Wednesday, Taylor County Board of Education members voted to create three new positions at the school system.

    Superintendent Roger Cook said he has made some changes to save some money next school year to account for less state funding.

    One change he would like to make, he said, is to create an assistant special education director position to work at Taylor County middle and high schools.

  • CES students compete in field day games

     

    Campbellsville Elementary School students recently competed in the school's annual field day games. Winners follow.

    Overall winners:

    • Kindergarten - first place, Lisa Wiseman's class; second place, Melanie Adams; third place, Linda Ward; fourth place, Kalie Crowder; fifth place; Chanci Patterson.

    • First-grade - first place, Adrienne Hash's class; second place, Vanessa Adkins; third place, Karen Skaggs; fourth place, Lisa Mardis.

  • TCHS names Students of the Year

     

    Taylor County High School recently named its Students of the Year.

  • TCHS senior to continue family tradition in Marine Corp

    "Being a Marine isn't just serving your country, it's a title you earn and carry with pride."

    TCHS senior Jonathan Rafferty plans on being a United States Marine when he graduates. He is the son of Steven and Carrie Rafferty.

    According to Rafferty, he has wanted to be a Marine for as long as he can remember.
