Work to renovate the one-room schoolhouse is complete and under budget.
Though originally reported at $8,000, Superintendent Roger Cook said the building was rehabbed for a little less than $4,000.
Heavily damaged by termites, windows and several boards in the building's walls had to be replaced. The exterior walls were covered with vinyl siding, which has the look of wood.
Cook and members of Taylor County Schools' maintenance staff did the work.
