  • CHS archery team competes

     

    Campbellsville High School archery team members from the 21st Century Eagle Excellence Program participated in the fifth annual Regional Archery Tournament sponsored by the National Archery in the Schools Program on Friday, March 9.

    It was the team's first year competing.

    Jim Ward, former CHS teacher and baseball coach, coaches the team.

    Team members are Claudia Rogers, Dustin Smothers, Lauren Rinehart, William Wright and Robyn Clark.

  • TCHS student makes jewelry box

     

    Brittany Downey, a sophomore at Taylor County High School, recently designed and created a jewelry box in Bill Shoemaker's woodshop class.

    Downey adorned the box using a wood-burner to etch in cartoon characters she created, and then painted them.

  • TCES student serves as legislative page

     

    Kailey Thompson, a fifth-grader at Taylor County Elementary School, served as a legislative page for the Family Resource & Youth Services Centers Coalition of Kentucky on March 7 in Frankfort.

    Thompson is the daughter of Eric and Jennifer Thompson.

  • Resident named century scholar

     

    Somerset Community College

    For the fourth time in the past five years, a Somerset Community College student has been named to the Coca-Cola New Century Scholars program. Mike Moore, a physical therapist assistant program student from Campbellsville, was chosen as the top scoring student from Kentucky this year.

  • TCES names Good Deed winners

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Good Deed winners for the week of March 21.

    They are Abby Graham, Penny Holland, Jonathan Simmons, Fletcher Brockman and Bethany Meece.

    Taylor County High School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of March 19-26.

    From left, they are freshman Maddie Hollingsworth, sophomore Jacob Gray, junior Justin Ronna and senior Nolan Slinker.

    Campbellsville High School recently named its Students of the Week.

    They are Haley Ferguson, David Kearney, Taneisha Noyola, Dakota Antle, Breanna Underwood, Jeremy Dearing, Christina Giles and Michael Beard.

  • Campbellsville schools name academic achievers

     

    Campbellsville Independent Schools recently announced its academic achievers for the month of March. A boy and a girl from each school are named. Those recognized include:

    Kaden Benningfield is a first-grade student at CES. He is the son of Shannon Benningfield and Travis Smith. His favorite teacher is Karen Skaggs and reading is his favorite subject. He enjoys playing football. His future plans are to become a fireman.

    Wednesday - Soft chicken tacos with lettuce and cheese, refried beans, pears and milk.

    Thursday - Pizza, buttered corn, apple, chocolate pudding, vanilla wafers and milk.

    Friday - Professional Development. No school.

  • Schools donate to West Liberty tornado victims

     

    Members of the Campbellsville High School Beta Club, along with the Campbellsville Elementary School Safety Patrol, are shown with a portion of the items they donated to help tornado victims in West Liberty.

    The Campbellsville Middle School Beta club members are not pictured but also collected $300 to be used to purchase items for the community.
