Counterfeit money could be on the rise.
Taylor County Bank has received nine fake bills this year, nearly five times more than last year. And, recently, the bank has taken two more - a $100 and a $20 - in as many weeks.
"It is unusual to get two this close together," said Henry Lee, Taylor County Bank president.
Fearing an upswing in fake currency, Lee contacted the News-Journal to help get the word out.
"With this economy, people need to be a little more vigilant," Lee said.
