  • Campbellsville schools honor academic achievers


    Campbellsville Independent Schools recently announced its academic achievers for October. A boy and a girl from each school are named.

    Griffin Skaggs is a kindergarten student at CES. He is the son of Monica Skaggs and Eric Skaggs. His favorite teacher is Melanie Carney and gym is his favorite subject. He enjoys playing video games and attending church. His future plan is to become a firefighter.

  • CMS names Leaders of the Week


    Campbellsville Middle School recently named its Leaders of the Week for the week of Oct. 10.

    They are seventh-grader Connor Riley, fourth-grader Noah Wilson, eighth-grader Brandon Tucker, fifth-grader Savannah Gumm and sixth-grader John Orberson.

  • TCES names Writers of the Week


    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Writers of the Week for the week of Oct. 17.

    They are kindergartener Ethan Cobb, first-grader Graci Peavey, second-grader Ivyana Embry, third-grader Kaeleigh Ireland and fifth-grader Morgan York.

    Taylor County High School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of Oct. 20.

    They are freshman Ashley Smith, sophomore Micah Franklin, junior Eric Quinn and senior Jacob Hiller.

    Taylor County Middle School has announced its Student Leaders of the Week for the week of Oct. 20.

    They are Cherith Brockman, Kaitlyn Phillips, Ethan Hunt, Andrew Melton and Timothy Vinyard.

    Monday - Bosco pizza sticks with marinara sauce, corn, sidekick smoothies and milk.

    Tuesday - Grilled chicken patty, broccoli with cheese, pinto beans, cornbread, mandarin oranges and milk.

    Wednesday - Spaghetti with meat sauce, garden salad with tomatoes, baby peas, breadstick, peaches and milk.

    Thursday - Cheeseburger with pickles and onions, baked fries, baked beans, applesauce and milk.

  • State officials to visit CHS

    State officials will soon visit Campbellsville High School to challenge seniors to continue their education after high school.

    Campbellsville School System is one of four school systems in Kentucky chosen this year to participate in the "Close the Deal" program.

    Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson launched the third year of the program in August and he will visit CHS next Friday.

  • TCHS Cardinal Financial Center hosts grand opening


    Taylor County High School's Cardinal Financial Center hosted a grand opening on Sept. 25, with more than 60 accounts opened that day.

    The Cardinal Financial Center celebrated its 19th year with a Monopoly game theme.

    Taylor County Bank, Citizens Bank and Trust Co., Forcht Bank, and United Citizens Bank sponsor the center.

    Many guests were in attendance, including several local figures and representatives from all four sponsoring banks.
