  • TCMS names Leaders of the Week

     

    Taylor County Middle School recently named its student Leaders of the Week for the week of Oct. 27.

    They are Peyton Dooley, Jacob Haddock, Logan Bricken and Maria Wilkerson.

  • CMS names Leaders of the Week

     

    Campbellsville Middle School recently named its Leaders of the Week for the week of Oct. 27.

    They are fifth-grader Dakota Harris, sixth-grader Destiny Hicks, fourth-grader Mary Russell, seventh-grader Zaria Cowan and eighth-grader Casey Hardin.

  • TCES names Leader in Me winners

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Leader in Me winners for the week of Oct. 20.

    They are Madison Barlow, Zach Caulk, Ian Jones, Zoe Orberson and Mason York.

  • TCHS art honor society hosts camp

     

    Taylor County High School Art Honor Society hosted its annual art camp on Oct. 9, in which high school students volunteered their time to do arts and crafts with students in first through fifth grades.

    Some of the crafts students participated in were sewing cloth pumpkins, making milk carton birdhouses and tie-dying socks.

    This year, society members agreed that proceeds from the camp will go to help the families of injured Campbellsville Fire & Rescue Firefighter Alex Quinn and the late Capt. Tony Grider.

  • TCHS band receives awards, advances to semifinal competition

     

    Taylor County High School marching band members recently received awards after competing in Glasgow and regional quarterfinal competition.

    On Saturday, Oct. 18, in Glasgow, the band competed at Barren County Marching Invitational and was recognized for earning a distinguished rating in preliminary and final performances. In the preliminary round in Class AAA, TCHS was awarded second place. The top 10 bands competed again in the finals round, where the band placed third among all classes.

  • CMS Leaders of the Week honored at luncheon

     

    Campbellsville Middle School Leaders of the week for the month of October were honored Monday, Oct. 27, with a leadership luncheon at Creek Side Restaurant.

    Wanda Washington spoke to students about the importance of diversity in leadership.

    Judy Cox, director of the Campbellsville/Taylor County Chamber of Commerce, and Creek Side Restaurant partnered with the school to host the lunch.

  • KCA releases honor roll

    Kentucky Christian Academy recently released its honor roll and perfect attendance lists for the first quarter grading period. Students listed follow.

    All A's

    • First - Grayson Booe, Callie Durham, Reece Estes, Kellen Floyd, Laityn Gray, Audrey Hicks, Lane Hord, Megan Mooney, Lily Smith and Finley Tucker.

    • Second Grade - Caleb Frank, Emerson McVay and Kade Somerville.

    • Third Grade - River Cheatham, Keeton Clements, Jackson Ellis and Braelyn Patterson.

  • Campbellsville schools honor academic achievers

     

    Campbellsville Independent Schools recently announced its academic achievers for October. A boy and a girl from each school are named.

    Griffin Skaggs is a kindergarten student at CES. He is the son of Monica Skaggs and Eric Skaggs. His favorite teacher is Melanie Carney and gym is his favorite subject. He enjoys playing video games and attending church. His future plan is to become a firefighter.
