  • CHS student to participate in all-state chorus

     

    Blair Lamb, a sophomore at Campbellsville High School, was recently chosen to participate in the 2015 All-State High School Women's Chorus.

    The chorus will perform in Louisville next February in conjunction with the Kentucky Music Educator's Conference.

    Lamb is the daughter of Tammy Lamb and Doug Lamb. She is an active participant in the CHS Show Choir, as well as a piano student of Suellen Shaw.

  • CMS names Leaders of the Week

     

    Campbellsville Middle School recently named its Leaders of the Week for the week of Nov. 10.

    They are fourth-grader Nate Mitchell, seventh-grader Alexis Lambert, fifth-grader Bailey Stearman, eighth-grader Keidlan Boils and sixth-grader Laci Hodgins.

  • TCES names Writers of the Week

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Writers of the Week for the week of Nov. 7.

    They are first-graders Ami Reece and Melina Smothers, second-grader Ashley Lobb, third-grader Preston Rainwater, fourth-grader Bryson Skaggs and fifth-grader Zane Murphy.

  • CU Steel Band demonstrates instruments for CES students

     

    Campbellsville University Steel Band members recently visited Campbellsville Elementary School and demonstrated a variety of drums and other instruments for students.

    The program was provided through a Target Arts and Culture in Schools grant written by Cyndi Chadwick.

    Monday - Mini corn dog, macaroni and cheese, sweat peas, fruit cocktail and milk.

    Tuesday - Chicken tetrazzini, tossed salad with tomatoes, baby carrots with dip, diced pears and milk.

    Wednesday - Taco salad with tortilla chips and salsa, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and shredded cheese, Spanish rice, pineapple tidbits and milk.

    Thursday - Pepperoni pizza, salad, corn, applesauce, graham cracker and milk.

  • CMS students dress up for Red Ribbon Week

     

    Campbellsville Middle School hosted Red Ribbon Week the week of Oct. 27-31. Students participated in dress-up days and received a red ribbon to wear for the week.

    The week commemorates the work of Special Agent Camarena and his dedication to eliminating drugs in the United States. Red Ribbon week has been celebrated the last week of October each year since 1985.

    Monday was wear red day.

    Tuesday was be a hero ... help encourage and respect others day.

  • CMS students visit dairy farm

     

    Campbellsville Middle School eighth-grade students recently visited Corbin's Dairy Farm through a grant provided by KidFriendly.

    KidFriendly grant supports efforts to provide real-life career experiences to students through on site trips.

  • TCES names Writers of the Week

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Writers of the Week for the week of Oct. 31.

    They are kindergartener Molly Myers, first-grader William Bennett, second-grader Alissa Bowers, third-grader Emily Storms, fourth-graders Liberty Albrecht and Jeffrey Sprowles and fifth-grader Billy Mattingly.

  • TCHS names Students of the Week

     

    Taylor County High School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of Nov. 5.

    They are freshman Drew Benningfield, sophomore Rylen Smith, junior Grace Bertram and senior Kassie Miller.

  • TCHS band places sixth at state competition

     

    Taylor County High School Marching Band competed last Saturday in the Kentucky Music Educators Association Class AAA state marching semi-finals. They received a distinguished rating and placed sixth.

    Russell County placed first, Adair County was second, Bourbon County came in third, Boyle County was fourth while Mercer County placed fifth.

    The season isn't over yet for the Cardinals. They will participate this Saturday at the Mid-States Band Association Championships at Northmont High School in Clayton, Ohio
