  • CES students learn about Galapagos Islands

     

    Campbellsville Elementary School fourth-grade students learned about Galapagos Islands recently when alum Morgan Murrell presented a program about a trip she took to the islands.

    Students learned about the habit of endangered animals on the islands and saw photos of animals that live on the islands.

    Food, clothing and crafts were also shown as part of Murrell's presentation.

    Murrell is a junior at Western Kentucky University, where she is majoring in dentistry.

    Her trip was part of a Study Abroad Honors Course at WKU.

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Writers of the Week for the week of March 22.

    Campbellsville University has been named to the 2013 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for the second year in a row, from the Corporation for National and Community Service, as a leader among institutions of higher education for support of volunteering, service learning and civic engagement.

  • CU professor receives mini-grant

    Dr. Twyla Hernandez, assistant professor in Christian missions at Campbellsville University's School of Theology, has received a mini-grant from the Appalachian College Association.

    The mini-grant, valued at $12,000, will be used to prepare CU's campus to receive more local Hispanics by training staff, faculty and administration on the best practices for working with the students and their families.

  • CU plans art scholarship competition

    Campbellsville University is searching for talented high school seniors to compete for two art scholarships worth a total of $6,000 each.

    The university's annual art scholarship competition and workshop will be Saturday, April 6, beginning at 10 a.m. in Room 100 of the Art Building, across from Gosser Fine Arts Center on campus.
