  • TCES names Writers of the Week

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Writers of the Week for the week of Sep. 26.

    They are kindergartener John Zottman, second-graders Daelan Nichols and Thomas Fritz, third-grader Hayden Hessman and fifth-grader Maggie Rigsby.

  • CU buys property near dining hall

    Campbellsville University

    Campbellsville University is the new owner of the Chandler property next door to Winters Dining Hall. The house had been empty for several years. While it was for sale, the price of the property remained higher than the university was able to work into its budget.

    Nothing happened with the property until two men began working together.

  • Conservation contest details announced

    For 70 years, young Kentuckians have been participating in the Conservation Writing and Jim Claypool Conservation Art contests.

    Sponsors of the contest are the Kentucky Division of Conservation, Kentucky Farm Bureau, and local conservation districts. This year's theme is "Protect Kentucky's Soil."

    The contest is open to all students in the county, including home-schooled students. The deadline is Dec. 1 for the top three art and/or writing entries from each school to be delivered to the local Conservation District office.

  • TCHS FFA team wins first place award

    Throughout the summer, Taylor County High School Future Farmers of America members practiced to prepare for competition at the Kentucky State Fair. FFA members had the opportunity to exhibit hay, soybeans, flower arrangements, tobacco, corn and projects they built that served as components for their Supervised Agricultural Experience programs.

    On Aug. 14, the livestock and dairy judging teams competed in their respective areas.

  • TCHS band places fourth in competition

     

    Taylor County High School Marching Band members traveled to Bardstown on Saturday to compete in the Nelson County Pageant of Bands.

    In the preliminary round in Class AAA, TCHS received third place. In the finals competition that evening, the band placed fourth among all classes.

    "What Goes Up" is the name of this year's show.

    The band is under the direction of Stephen Bishop with Madison Bishop as drum major.

    Taylor County Middle School recently named its student leaders of the week for the week of Sept. 15.

    They are Paige Farmer, Logan Skaggs, Sydney Bertram, Carson Watson, Jay Milburn and Joseph Cox.

    Taylor County Elementary School recently announced its Writers of the Week for the week of Sept. 19.

    They are kindergartener Madelynn Yates, first-grader Kiley Parker, second-grader Cameron Lee, third-grader Allee Coghill, fourth-grader Destiny Rafferty and fifth-graders Kaitlyn Curry and Justice Perry.

  • CMS names Leaders of the Week

     

    Campbellsville Middle School recently named its Leaders of the Week for the week of Sept. 22-26.

    They are fourth-grader Jeremiah Garrett, seventh-grader Victoria Cox, sixth-grader Carly Adams, eighth-grader Shala Miller and fifth-grader Taz Shipione.

  • TCES names Leader in Me winners

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Leader in Me award winners for the week of Sept. 15.

    They are Samuel Hatcher, Ryan Burton, Jordan Miles, Matthew Mejean and Claire Melton.

  • TCMS names Leaders of the Week

     

    Taylor County Middle School recently named its Leaders of the Week.

    They are Brylee Adams, Baylie Skaggs, Olivia Cheatham, Brennan Parker and Nick Cheatham.
