  • TCHS band ends marching season as grand champions

     

    Taylor County High School Marching Band ended its season being named grand champion this past Saturday.

    The band traveled to Clayton, Ohio, to compete in the Mid-States Band Association Class AA Championships.

    The contest was at Northmont High School and featured 19 bands from Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.

    In the preliminary round, the Marching Cardinals earned a distinguished rating, placed second and had the best scores in music and general effect.

  • CES students tour downtown Campbellsville

     

    Campbellsville Elementary School third-grade students recently toured downtown Campbellsville and met with many governmental leaders to discuss their roles as officials.

    Campbellsville Mayor Tony Young met with students at the Campbellsville Civic Center.

    Campbellsville Police Officer Ryan Jewell and Campbellsville Fire & Rescue Chief Kyle Smith also spoke to students.

    The students toured the police station, fire department and EMS headquarters.

  • Community leaders read to CES students

     

    Campbellsville schools' Family Resource Center recently sponsored the program, "A Few Good Men and Women," which gives community leaders the opportunity to read to Campbellsville Elementary School students in the classroom.

  • TCHS students tour ECTC

     

    Taylor County High School students recently toured Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. Students were served dinner by the culinary arts department and given a tour of all the technical and associate degree programs.

    Students were given information on admission requirements, four-year degrees and financial services.

    The trip was funded by the 21st Century Program.

  • CHS student to participate in all-state chorus

     

    Blair Lamb, a sophomore at Campbellsville High School, was recently chosen to participate in the 2015 All-State High School Women's Chorus.

    The chorus will perform in Louisville next February in conjunction with the Kentucky Music Educator's Conference.

    Lamb is the daughter of Tammy Lamb and Doug Lamb. She is an active participant in the CHS Show Choir, as well as a piano student of Suellen Shaw.

  • CMS names Leaders of the Week

     

    Campbellsville Middle School recently named its Leaders of the Week for the week of Nov. 10.

    They are fourth-grader Nate Mitchell, seventh-grader Alexis Lambert, fifth-grader Bailey Stearman, eighth-grader Keidlan Boils and sixth-grader Laci Hodgins.

  • TCES names Writers of the Week

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Writers of the Week for the week of Nov. 7.

    They are first-graders Ami Reece and Melina Smothers, second-grader Ashley Lobb, third-grader Preston Rainwater, fourth-grader Bryson Skaggs and fifth-grader Zane Murphy.

  • CU Steel Band demonstrates instruments for CES students

     

    Campbellsville University Steel Band members recently visited Campbellsville Elementary School and demonstrated a variety of drums and other instruments for students.

    The program was provided through a Target Arts and Culture in Schools grant written by Cyndi Chadwick.
