• TCMS students win at 4-H talk meet


    Taylor County Middle School students competed and took home several awards at the recent 4-H Talk Meet.

    Kara Cox was the overall 11-year-old winner.

    Andrew Melton won in the 12-year-old category and Tori Daugherty took home top honors amongst the 13-year-olds.

  • CES to participate in Purple Up! celebration

    Campbellsville Elementary School students will participate in the annual Purple Up! for Military Kids celebration on Tuesday, April 15.

    Established by former Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger in 1986, the designation of April as the Month of the Military Child acknowledges the significant role military youth play in our communities. In Kentucky, there are more than 30,000 military children.

  • CCCCE accepting applications

    Campbellsville Christian Church Center for Education is taking registration applications for students to attend school at the center for the 2014-2015 school year.

    While kindergarten classes are currently full for the 2014-2015 school year, applications are available for pre-kindergarten, which 4-year-olds attend, and glow worms for 3-year-olds.

  • CES students participate in Hoops for Heart


    Campbellsville Elementary School second- and third-grade students participated in the Hoops for Heart Program this year.

    Katie Wilkerson and Sonya Orberson sponsored the event, where $471.20 was raised for the American Heart Association.

    Daniel Caton raised the most money with $150 in contributions.

    Also participating were Leigh Hicks, Blake Tungate, Cameron Mahan, Bryce Newton, Cameren Vicari, Willie Nunn, Tre' Shipione, Leo Lamer, Kalli Howard, Logan Marples and Skyler Lawson.

    Taylor County High School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of March 17.

    They are freshman Abbie Spurling, sophomore Lexus Denham, junior Hannah Shines and senior Carlie Hazel.

    Taylor County Middle School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of March 17.

    They are Noah McNear, Blake Fields, Evan Davis, Spencer Agee, Cooper Parks and Blake Richard.

  • CMS students named to honor band


    Campbellsville Middle School students eighth-grader Austin Fitzgerald and seventh-grader Nicolas Cowan participated in the inaugural Western Kentucky University Middle School Honor Band event on Friday, March 7.

    They were selected from about 400 applicants and chosen based on their skill and their accomplishments. Selections from the concert have been posted on the Campbellsville Marching Eagles’ Facebook page.

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Good Deed winners for the week of March 7.

    They are Daron Rice and Lucas Stone, Darlene Ferguson, Peyton Harrison, Brady Hash, Kayden Durham and Chaz Newton.

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Writers of the Week for the week of March 7.

    They are first-grader Carson Hedgespeth, second-grader Trey Hancock, third-grader Tatum Caulk and fifth-grader Molly Crabtree.

  • Campbellsville school calendar amended


    After spring break, Campbellsville Independent students will attend a full day of school on Fridays. Now, the students are released at 1 p.m. those days.

    But because winter weather has caused the cancellation of several days of school, the District's top official has said attending the entire day on Fridays will allow students to make up some of the instruction they lost.
