  • CES names Writers of the Week

    Campbellsville Elementary School's Jensen Martin, Elizabeth Sullivan and David Silva were recently named Writer of the Week for their grade levels on Feb. 22.

  • Books donated in memory of Linda Cable

    Taylor County Public Library was fortunate to receive a large sum of money to buy books with tapes or CDs in memory of Linda Cable, a Taylor County Elementary teacher who died last year.

    Cable's memory will live on every time a child or parent reads the books or listens to a CD or a tape from this collection.

    Becky Grant also donated the popular children's book "The Polar Bear Express" by Chris Van Allsburg in Cable's memory.

  • Board sets final day of school

    Campbellsville Independent students will finish the school year before Memorial Day this year.

    At Monday night's regular monthly meeting, School Board members approved an amended calendar that sets Friday, May 23 as students' last day.

    Graduation is also planned for May 23.

    Superintendent Diane Woods-Ayers reminded those at the meeting that if any more days are missed for bad weather or illness, that date would change.

  • CES students earn math medals

    Campbellsville Elementary School students Keena Angel, Cody Davis and Chanson Atkinson were awarded math medals at a Feb. 22 celebration assembly.

  • 4-H Demonstration Champions advance to district

    Congratulations to the participants in the recent 4-H Demonstration Contest. By presenting a demonstration, 4-H members improve their public speaking skills, poise and self-confidence in front of a group.

    Demonstration champions advance to the district competition at Lindsey Wilson College on May 3. District winners advance to the state competition.

    In the foods category, Brittany Rose was named the champion. Her demonstration was "How to Make a Tag-Along Milkshake."

  • TCES receives flag from the Capitol

    Taylor County Elementary School was recently presented with a United States flag that had been flown over the Capital in Washington D.C. Phyllis Causey, field representative for Rep. Ron Lewis, presented the flag to Herbert Wheat, TCES principal. Fifth grade safety patrol members are responsible for raising and lowering the flag each day and are also pictured.
