  • TCES names Writers of the Week

  • Wiedewitsch honored for earning 200 AR points

    Ryan Wiedewitsch was awarded a trophy at Campbellsville Elementary School's Feb. 22 celebration assembly.

    Wiedewitsch earned 200 Accelerated Reader points.

  • Boone named to Who's Who

    Savannah Bryant Boone of Campbellsville was selected to the 2008 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

    A student at Murray State University, Boone was among several at Murray to be selected as outstanding campus leaders.

    Campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory included the names of these students based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.

  • Applications sought for Olson Scholarships

    The trustees of the Dr. William H. Olson Scholarship Trust have announced the open application period for the 2008-2009 scholarship.

    Olson endowed the scholarship trust to help eligible students from Taylor County, Campbellsville and Green County high schools pursue undergraduate educational programs related to the medical field of study.

    Olson was educated at Harvard Medical School, completed his medical internship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Mass. and was an associate professor of neurology and anatomy at Vanderbilt University of Medicine.

  • CU hosts 28th annual President's Club dinner

    Dr. E. Bruce Heilman urged audience members at the 28th annual President's Club dinner recently in the Winters Dining Hall to "continue the upward momentum" of Campbellsville University.

  • Guardsman speaks to history classes

    Sgt. Robbie Rogers of the Campbellsville National Guard recently spoke to Jeff Gumm's and Shane Cox's U.S. history classes at Taylor County High School. Rogers talked about his time in Iraq.

  • TCES kindergarten registration is March 13-14

    Taylor County Elementary will be conducting kindergarten registration for the 2008-2009 school year on Thursday and Friday, March 13-14.

    Registrations will take place each day from 8:30 a.m. through 2 p.m.

    To be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1. To register a child for kindergarten, parents must schedule an appointment by calling the elementary school at 465-5691.

  • TCES Family Night is Friday, Feb. 29

    Taylor County Elementary School will host a family night tomorrow from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

    The theme will be "Read Across TCES."

    Students and their families are invited to come for a night of fun and exciting math and reading sessions, games, refreshments and prizes.

    Guests can have their pictures made with the guest of honor, The Cat in the Hat.

    There will also be a Scholastic book fair, located in the library.

  • CES students receive math medals

    Campbellsville Elementary fourth graders Hunter Milby, Gracie Begley, Cody Garrett, Rachel Price, Doyle Clements, Jasmine Clemmons and Jensen Martin received a math medal during a recent celebration assembly. This award was earned by completing 80 multiplication or division problems in less than two minutes.

  • CES to host kindergarten registration March 20

    Registration for kindergarten students entering Campbellsville Independent Schools for the 2008-2009 school year will take place Thursday, March 20.

    If your child attends Campbellsville Preschool or Head Start, this registration will be completed with them. Children enrolling must be 5 years old by or on Oct. 1, 2008.

    Parents with children entering kindergarten in August will need to contact Campbellsville Elementary School, located at 230 W. Main St. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Parents may call 465-4561 to register by phone or come by the school for enrollment information.
