  • Campbellsville Schools name academic achievers for March

    Campbellsville Independent Schools' Academic Achievers for the month of March were recently named.

    Campbellsville Elementary

    Chanson Atkinson is a second grade student at CES. He is the son of Rochelle and James Atkinson. He enjoys playing football and basketball. His favorite teacher is Joyce Dunlap, and math is his favorite subject. His future plans are to play basketball for Louisville as a point guard.

  • CES students earn math medals

    Campbellsville Elementary School's Jarett Malone, Brenna Wethington, Mallory Haley, Kailey Morris and Alex Doss received math medals for outstanding math achievement during a recent Celebration Assembly.

  • TCES honored as finalist in inaugural grant program

    Taylor County Elementary School has been recognized as a finalist in the inaugural Good Deeds for Schools grant program, sponsored by Goody's Family Clothing.

    The newly created program is designed to help local schools pay for the materials they really need but cannot afford through regular education funding.

  • TCHS students participate in All-District Band

    On Jan. 26, 14 members of the Taylor County High School Band participated in the Fourth District Band Directors Association's All District Symphonic and Concert Bands.

    The students who participated in this event must have first completed an audition process competing against other students in their district.

    Tuesday - Chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, fruit salad, bread slice and milk.

    Wednesday - Spaghetti, tossed salad, green beans, toast, peaches and milk.

    Thursday - Pizza, corn, potato rounds, applesauce, Sunshine Bar and milk.

    Friday - Corn dog, Baked Doritos, carrot sticks, baked beans, fruit sherbet and milk.

  • 4-H Poster Contest open to all currently enrolled 4-H'ers

    Currently enrolled 4-H'ers are invited to participate in a poster contest being sponsored by Taylor County 4-H.

    The subject for the poster contest is "4-H." Posters may take any approach or focus on any area of 4-H. You can show what 4-H is, what you do in 4-H or what 4-H offers young people. Rules for the poster contest are:

    - Poster must be designed on a 14 x 22 poster board (1/2 of a regular poster board).

    - Posters may be designed horizontally or vertically using any medium: watercolor, ink, crayon, oils, pencil or collage.

  • CHS students attend Great Kids Summit

    Campbellsville High School students recently attended the Great Kids Summit in Lexington. Students were involved in various activities that emphasized leadership skills and team building. Stedman Graham was the summit's keynote speaker and Survivor's Kentucky Joe was also a conference presenter. The summit was sponsored by Kentucky Child Now.

  • DECA recognizes outstanding school stores

    The School-Based Enterprise at Taylor County High School was among the school stores to achieve Gold Level Certification this year and will be recognized at DECA's International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Ga.

    Wes Parker, store manager, worked on the certification with the assistance of his advisor, Patty Evans. The school store at Taylor County High School has operated an SBE for 13 years.

    Taylor County Elementary School's Writers of the Week for the week of Wednesday, March 5 are, from left: Brayden Jessie, kindergarten; Orianna Menes, first grade; Megan Canada, second grade; Alexandra Brockman, third grade; Paige Dabney, fourth grade; and Morgan Bryant, fifth grade.
