• Caldwell is recipient of CU racial reconciliation award

    The Campbellsville University 2010 Racial Reconciliation Award was presented recently to the Rev. Michael Caldwell at the annual celebration of the university's Dialogue on Race.

    John Chowning, CU vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president, made the presentation.

  • CES celebrates Halloween


    Campbellsville Elementary School third graders had an opportunity on Halloween to visit a variety of scary activities. One station was with a mad scientist who taught them how to stir up some strange concoctions. One was silly goop.

  • CU honors 67 scholars at Central Kentucky Scholar's Day

    Sixty-seven high school scholars from central Kentucky were recognized at Campbellsville University at a dinner in their honor recently at the 2010 Central Kentucky Scholar's Day.

    Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services, said the Scholar's Day meant CU "recruited the brightest and the best" in preparing for the event.

  • CHS parent teacher conferences are Nov. 22

    Campbellsville High School will host parent teacher conferences on Monday, Nov. 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

    Chili will be served to all who attend. Teachers will be available to conference, progress reports will be handed out and parent portal information to log onto infinite campus will be provided.

    Any senior who has not yet completed a senior contract may schedule a time that evening to complete their contract with Elisha Rhodes, CHS guidance counselor.

  • Information sessions planned to recruit new teachers

    The U.S. Department of Education awarded a federal Transition to Teaching grant to the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative on behalf of 20 of its 33 districts and their 96 schools in 2009.

    By receiving the Transition to Teaching grant as part of a federal push to help school districts recruit skilled mid-career professionals and recent college graduates into teaching careers, GRREC will place up to 100 new teachers in Kentucky throughout the duration of the four-year grant.
