    Kentucky Christian Academy first graders look at a quilt that was made by a KCA parent. Each student's self portrait and signature was transferred onto the quilt that was later sold at the annual KCA auction.

    Campbellsville Elementary School students had an entire week of energy conservation activities recently to kick off their Go Green project. Each classroom completed an On Demand Writing task and winners were selected.     Looking into your past? You're not alone. Thousands visit Frankfort each year searching for information about their family history in the commonwealth's major historical repositories.

    I met a very nice couple from Tennessee the other day who were looking up family history in our Genealogy Room. They were so happy that they were able to find so much information about their family roots in our library.

  • TCMS teacher wins McDonald's grant


    Jessica McCubbin, a teacher at Taylor County Middle School, has much more joy than usual to share with her students this holiday season. McCubbin is the recipient of a 2010 MAC Grant from McDonald's Restaurants of Kentuckiana.

  • CU shows record numbers in fall census

    According to an announcement from Campbellsville University president Michael V. Carter, CU has recorded its 21st consecutive semester of record enrollment.

    Census data calculated the total enrollment at 3,225 students, compared to 3,006 students at about the same time last year. This is a 7.3 percent increase in the student body. Also, students staying in residence halls have increased 7.4 percent, from 883 students to 948 students.

    Nathan Sowders is a second-grade student at CES. He is the son of Joshua and Shawn Sowders. He enjoys playing dodge ball and hula hoop. His favorite teacher is Laura Dicken. His future plans are to become a babysitter.
