  • Becoming a success

     

    I, Stormy Lachowicz, have been working toward my GED for close to seven months now. I finally passed my GED test Dec. 6, 2012, and couldn't be more proud of myself.

    I could have graduated high school if I hadn't gotten married at the age of 17. After I got married, I moved to Taylor County School District. With me attending Campbellsville High School, my husband wouldn't take me back and forth to school every day.

  • TCES names Writers of the Week

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Writers of the Week for the week of April 19.

    They are, from left, kindergartener Peyton Penn, first-grader Briley Cox, second-grader Chadlee Hunt, third-grader Tolbert Feltner and fourth- and fifth-graders Amerilee Lowe and Brayden Jessie.

    Tuesday - Ham slice, macaroni and cheese, pinto beans, diced pears, roll and milk.

    Wednesday - Corndog, coleslaw, corn on the cob, pineapple tidbits, banana and milk.

    Thursday - Beef tacos, tortilla chips, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, refried beans, applesauce and milk.

  • TCHS student wins at STLP competition

     

    Taylor County High School student Tyler Rushing placed first out of 34 other students at the state STLP competition on March 28.

    He competed in the Art on Demand challenge and had to complete an on-sight assignment within two hours.

    Student Technology Leadership Program is a project-based learning program in Kentucky schools that empowers students in all grade levels to use technology to learn and achieve.

    Student-designed projects, products and services are created to help schools and communities.

  • TCHS show choir travels to dinner playhouse

     

    Taylor County High School Show Choir recently traveled to Derby Dinner Playhouse to see the musical "9 to 5."

    Forty-five students and 10 chaperones attended.

  • KCA opens enrollment

    Kentucky Christian Academy is now enrolling 3-year-old students.

    Slots are also open for students in grades one through five.

    The school offers five days of education with a Christian-based curriculum.

    Taylor County High School recently announced is Students of the Week for the week of April 15-22.

  • Project graduation fundraising continues

    Fundraising for Campbellsville High School's project graduation ceremony has fallen a bit short this year.

    Parents discussed the efforts to raise money for the drug- and alcohol-free party at last Monday's meeting of the Campbellsville School Board.

    Representing the CHS project graduation committee, senior parent Terri Slinker asked the Board to consider contributing $1,000 to help pay for prom breakfast and the upcoming project graduation celebration.
