  • TCES names Leader in Me winners

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently announced their Leader in Me winners.

  • TCES names Writers of the Week

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently announced its Writers of the Week for the week of Dec. 12.

    They are kindergartener Mario Luna, second-graders Miranda Osinger and Alyssa Fulkerson, third-graders Riley Sprowles and Bryson Clifton and fifth-grader Colton Morgan.

  • CMS names Leaders of the Week

     

    Campbellsville Middle School recently named its Leaders of the Week for the week of Dec. 15.

    They are sixth-grader Trinity Lobb, eighth-grader Travis Nash, seventh-grader Tahler Franklin, fourth-grader Weston Mattingly and fifth-grader Brandon Pittman.

  • Plans made to improve academic achievement

    Plans are in the works to improve student achievement at Campbellsville Schools.

    At their November meeting, Campbellsville Board of Education members heard about the goals to improve test scores at each of the schools in the district.

    On Monday, at this month's meeting, Superintendent Mike Deaton outlined just how the schools plan to do that.

    At Campbellsville Elementary School, he said, personnel will devote extra time to help students with reading.

  • CES honors veterans

     

    Campbellsville Elementary School honored veterans on Tuesday in recognition of Veterans Day.

    Guests and students were led in the pledge of the flag by members of the CES Lighthouse Team, listened to song selections from the third-grade choir and viewed a slideshow presentation featuring veterans and current servicemen.

    Students also heard from Campbellsville Mayor Tony Young, Taylor County Judge/Executive Eddie Rogers, and State Rep. John "Bam" Carney, R-Campbellsville.

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Writers of the Week for the week of Nov. 14.

    They are kindergartener Mason Willis, first-grader Braxton Tucker, second-grader Mallory Dowell, third-grader Kylee Farmer, fourth-grader Dustin Meadows and fifth-grader Naveah Lebron.

  • CMS names Leaders of the Week

     

    Campbellsville Middle School recently named its Leaders of the Week for the week of Nov. 17

    They are eighth-grader Jaylah Tucker, fifth-grader Cailet Clark, sixth-grader Tristan Faulkner, seventh-grader Madison Lyons and fourth-grader Leigh Hicks.

  • Other action from the Nov. 10 meeting of the Campbellsville Board of Education

    • Board members approved the creation of an AmeriCorp position at CHS. The employee will work with students who are struggling with reading.

    • Board members agreed to make a final payment on the softball hitting facility to VanHook Enterprises and DS2 Architects.

    • Finance Director Chris Kidwell presented the District's October financial report. Revenue was $1,227,882.38 and expenses totaled $1,322,296.53. The closing balance at the end of last month was $2,902,870.39.

  • Superintendent receives technology award

     

    Taylor County School Superintendent Roger Cook recently received an award for his work with technology in schools.

    The Center for Digital Education named Cook as one of the "Top 30 Technologists, Transformers and Trailblazers."

    He also attended a gathering of technology leaders in Nashville, Tenn., at the Digital Education Leadership Conversation event.
