  • TCES releases honor roll

    Taylor County Elementary School has released its intermediate teams honor roll for the first nine-week grading period.

  • School menus for Nov. 29-Dec. 3

    Campbellsville Independent: Nov. 29-Dec. 3

    Monday - Chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, buttered peas, fruit mix and milk.

    Tuesday - White chicken chili with corn bread, vegetable sticks, mandarin oranges, chocolate chip cookie and milk.

    Wednesday - Hamburger on bun, potato wedges, corn on the cob, applesauce, Elf Grahams and milk.

    Thursday - Tacos, tortilla chips, lettuce, tomato, cheese, Spanish rice, sherbet and milk.

  • CHS parent teacher conferences are Nov. 22

    Campbellsville High School will host parent teacher conferences on Monday, Nov. 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

    Chili will be served to all who attend. Teachers will be available to conference, progress reports will be handed out and parent portal information to log onto infinite campus will be provided.

    Any senior who has not yet completed a senior contract may schedule a time that evening to complete their contract with Elisha Rhodes, CHS guidance counselor.

  • Information sessions planned to recruit new teachers

    The U.S. Department of Education awarded a federal Transition to Teaching grant to the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative on behalf of 20 of its 33 districts and their 96 schools in 2009.

    By receiving the Transition to Teaching grant as part of a federal push to help school districts recruit skilled mid-career professionals and recent college graduates into teaching careers, GRREC will place up to 100 new teachers in Kentucky throughout the duration of the four-year grant.

  • Instruction costs up at Campbellsville schools

    Instruction costs at Campbellsville Independent Schools were up last year.

    During last Monday's monthly School Board meeting, Jeff Sprowles of Wise, Buckner, Sprowles & Associates gave an audit report for the District's fiscal year ending June 30.

    According to Sprowles, instruction accounts for 58 percent of the District's $12.88 million in expenses for 2010, or $7.56 million.

  • Cheerleaders host Trick and Trot fundraiser

     

    The Taylor County Middle School cheerleaders hosted their second annual Trick and Trot 5k run/walk on Saturday, Oct. 23.

    The fundraiser helps with competition expenses throughout the year. The first place overall winner in the 5k race was Shelly Peterson, front. The first place overall male winner in the 5K race was Terry Holmes, at center in back row. The first place winner for female 5K walk was Missy Knopp and first place winner for male 5K walk was Dwight Adcock.
