  • CMS launches Eagle Excellence initiative

     

    Campbellsville Middle School recently launched the Eagle Excellence initiative.

    Staff have Eagle Excellence cards that they may give to students when they witness an act by a student who displays excellence in the areas of preparedness, respect, student involvement in positive activities, dependability and work in the classroom.

    Big changes are in store for the patrons of the Taylor County Public Library by the first of September. You will be able to download E-books from the public library on your Kindle or Nook.

  • Registration open for Tiger Tumblers

     

    Campbellsville University's cheerleaders will accept registrations for Tiger Tumblers on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 29-30 for children age 5 and older.

    Practices will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 6 and will be each Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 in the university's Student Activities Center.

    Instructors will be CU cheerleaders with oversight from CU Cheerleading Coach Vanessa Adkins.

  • CU criminal justice professor receives promotion

    Dr. Jacquelyn Sandifer, associate professor of criminal justice at Campbellsville University has been promoted to professor of criminal justice, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.

    She has served at Campbellsville University since 2000. She received tenure in 2006.

    Stan McKinney, assistant professor of journalism at Campbellsville University, has been promoted to associate professor of journalism, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University

  • CU nursing instructor receives promotion

    Beverly Rowland, instructor in nursing at Campbellsville University, has been promoted to associate professor of nursing, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.

    Rowland, of Glensfork in Adair County, has served in her position at Campbellsville University since 2007. She also served as interim dean of the School of Nursing.

  • Two students to win college savings accounts at state fair

    Two students will win $500 college savings accounts at the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville on August 18-28.

    The accounts are being given away by the Kentucky Education Savings Plan Trust, the state's official 529 college savings plan.

    To register for a chance to win, students and parents must fill out an entry form at the booth of the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority in the South Wing of the Kentucky Exposition Center.

    Entrants must be Kentucky residents and must complete the process of getting a College Cost and Planning Report.
