• TCHS names Students of the Week


    Taylor County High School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of Feb. 18.

    They are freshman Martin Vasquez, sophomore Hunter Underwood, junior Cooper Hall and senior Jonathan Cox.

    Taylor County Middle School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of Feb. 17.

    They are Jarett Malone, Mercedes Hughes, Cheyenne Bell, Baylie Skaggs, Ian Costello and Mason Dixon.

  • CES receives donation to help keep schools clean


    Campbellsville Elementary School was recently chosen to receive a donation of 50 canisters of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to help teachers and students stop the spread of germs during the cold and flu season.

  • Homemaker scholarship applications now accepted

    Taylor County Extension Homemakers are currently accepting applications for 2014 scholarships. This year, three $500 scholarships will be awarded.

    Eligible are graduating high school seniors from Taylor County and Campbellsville high schools who will begin 2014 fall semester studies at a Kentucky college, university, vocational or technical school.

    Tuesday - Sausage, biscuit, gravy, scrambled eggs, baked apples, fruit and milk.

    Wednesday - Lasagna, garden salad with tomatoes, baby peas, garlic bread, sidekick smoothies, fruit and milk.

    Thursday - Bosco pizza sticks with marinara sauce, sweet corn, pineapple tidbits, fruit and milk.

  • CHS students visit state capitol


    Campbellsville High School students visited the Kentucky capitol building in Frankfort, and they met with State Sen. Sara Beth Gregory, R-Monticello.

    The students and their teacher, Deanna Campbell, toured the capital, visited the Senate chambers and had a discussion with Gregory about issues the state faces.

  • CU Women's Alliance forms

    Women getting together and women helping students are the main purposes of a new Campbellsville University Women's Alliance.

    The group's first brunch was Feb. 8 at the Badgett Academic Support Center. The second will be Sept. 27. The alliance plans on hosting two brunches annually, one each semester.

  • CES to host kindergarten registration March 24-28

    Registration for kindergarten students entering Campbellsville Independent Schools for the 2014-2015 school year will be the week of March 24-28. Children enrolling must be 5 years old by or on Oct. 1.

    Those whose children attend Campbellsville Preschool or Head Start will complete the registration there.

    Parents with children entering kindergarten in August will need to contact CES between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Parents can call (270) 465-4561 to register by phone or come by the school for enrollment information.

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Writers of the Week for the week of Feb. 7.

    They are first-graders Jaxon McCubbin and Jordan Scott and second-grader Jordyn Farmer.

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Good Deed winners for the week of Feb. 7.

    They are Emma Pinson, Bradyn Dabney, Nevaeh Kays, Cole McLean and Caden Williams.
