  • Locals graduate from CU

    Campbellsville University

    United States Rep. Ed Whitfield, R-Ky., urged Campbellsville University undergraduates to "work well and faithfully" as he spoke to CU graduates on May 3.

    CU graduated 152 master's students May 2 and 264 graduates May 3, for a total of 416 students receiving their diplomas upon completion of all academic requirements.

  • TCES names Good Deed winners

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently announced its Good Deed winners for the week of April 25.

    They are Christopher Singleton, Anna Pinson, Daniel Bone, Adelia Simpson, Cheyanne Hall, Brooklyn Milby and Tolbert Feltner.

  • TCHS names Students of the Week

     

    Taylor County High School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of May 5.

    They are freshman Madison Lauer, sophomore Olivia Wilkerson, junior Mary Gray and senior Tiffany Lawson.

    Campbellsville University recently recognized outstanding faculty, staff, and students during this year's annual Honors and Awards Day ceremony.

  • Campbellsville schools honor academic achievers

     

    Campbellsville Independent Schools recently announced its academic achievers for April. A boy and a girl from each school are named.

    Those recognized include:

    Campbellsville Elementary School

    Maddox Lawler is a second-grade student at CES. He is the son of Andrea and Luke Lawler. His favorite teacher is Debbie Baugh and math is his favorite subject. He enjoys playing soccer. His future plan is to become an architect and design buildings.

    They are Isles Duncan, Samuel Hatcher, Gwyndolyn Denham, Steven Nannery and William Balsan.

    Taylor County High School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of April 28.

    They are freshman Lanie Hall, sophomore Matthew Salee, junior Emily Porter and senior Katelyn Carter.

  • TCHS seniors host community art exhibits

     

    Taylor County High School seniors are hosting art exhibits in the community, through May 22.

    Jakob Fox's and Dustin Campbell's work is showing at Taylor County Bank on Broadway.

    Work by Tyler Rushing and Marshall Steele is on display at Forcht Bank on Broadway.

    Dalton Bennett's work is on display at Taylor County Public Library.

    Work by Megan Mullican and Dakota Morgan is at Taylor County Bank in Green River Plaza.

  • TCHS student wins best of show awards

     

    Taylor County High School student Christa Thomas recently won Best of Show awards in the two- and three-dimensional categories at the school's annual art competition.
