  • Locals graduate from Campbellsville University

    Campbellsville University graduated 170 master's and 262 undergraduate students on May 3 and 4, respectively, along with 215 December graduates, for a record 647 students receiving their diplomas in the 2012-2013 academic year.

    The following students from Taylor County graduated from Campbellsville University:

    Wesley Neil Colvin and Jordan Tyler Haynes received associate degrees in nursing.

    Cha'kilrra Laquay Lawson, Makayla Ashten McCloud, Sharon Ann Scott and Adam Robert Simmons received associate degrees in nursing.

  • TCHS students tour Washington D.C.

     

    Taylor County High School social studies students recently visited Washington, D.C. Thirty-five students and three teachers spent several days touring the capitol.

  • TCMS names Students of the Week

     

    Taylor County Middle School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of April 29.

    They are, from left, Vanessa Allen, Kelsie Perkins, Kailey Witham, Isabella Spurling, Josh Beard and Luke Mings.

  • Ag commissioner visits TCHS

     

    Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture James Comer visited Taylor County High School recently and spoke to Future Farmers of America members.

    Comer discussed the Department of Agriculture's responsibilities, the impact of recent legislation and resources the department can provide to young farmers pursuing careers in agriculture.

  • Locals receive awards at CU's Honors and Awards day

     

    Campbellsville University students, including several Campbellsville residents, received awards at Honors and Awards Day on April 17 at Ransdell Chapel.

    Campbellsville residents receiving awards include:

    • Rebekah Cecile DeVore received the SGA Extra Mile Student Award and Psychology Academic Award.

    • Rebekah Arlene Carl received the Alumni Association "Double A" Award for academics and athletics and Sport Medicine Academic Award.

  • Native receives academic achievement award

     

    Campbellsville native Cassi Schwoebel Nushart was recently recognized at a College of Health and Human Services banquet at Western Kentucky University.

    She was awarded the Outstanding Academic Achievement in MHA from the Department of Public Health at WKU, where she has been a graduate teaching assistant.

    Nushart graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in health care administration in May 2010 and will complete a Master of Health Administration at WKU this summer.

  • Soil Stewardship Week continues through May 5

     

    Soil Stewardship Week began on Sunday and will continue through this coming Sunday.

    The observance of Soil Stewardship week has been around for 60 years and it is one of the world's largest conservation-related observances.
