  • Campbellsville resident wins journalism award

     

    Staff members of RaiderView, the student newspaper of Lindsey Wilson College, received 26 awards at the annual Kentucky Intercollegiate Press Association convention in Lexington.

    Campbellsville resident Leslie Moore serves as editor of the newspaper and received awards during the convention.

    The awards, which recognize journalistic excellence at Kentucky's colleges and universities, were for work published in 2011. LWC students compete in the 5,000 and less enrollment category.

  • CU crowns 70th valentine queen

    Audrey Wunderlich, a sophomore from Frankfort, was named Campbellsville University's valentine queen at the 70th annual Valentine Pageant on Feb. 10.

    The pageant is the longest-running tradition on CU's campus.

  • Local displaying piggy banks in Frankfort

     

    Taylor County will have a student's creativity on display in Frankfort for Kentucky Saves Week, which began Monday and ends tomorrow.

    Whitney Eubank, a Taylor County High School senior, competed with 16 other high school students and 13 younger artists in a piggy bank pageant.

    Children from pre-school through high school were challenged to create and decorate a bank. To encourage savings, six local banks offered prizes and display space.

    Wednesday - Chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, lima beans, pears, bread slice and milk with choice of pork chop.

  • School boards set 2012-2013 calendars

    The 2012-2013 Campbellsville Independent school calendar has been set.

    Opening day for teachers is Aug. 1, while the first day for students is Aug. 2. The last day for students will be May 16. Fall break is Oct. 1-5. Christmas break is Dec. 20-31. Spring break is April 1-5.

    The Campbellsville Independent School Board adopted the 2012-2013 school calendar during its regular meeting last Monday.

    Cosby spoke at CU's weekly chapel service.

  • TCES names Good Deed winners

     

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Good Deed winners for the week of Feb. 14.

    They are Noah Rogers, Ryan Underwood, Kassandra Hughes, Chloe Bright and David Leigh.

  • CHS names Students of the Week

     

    Campbellsville High School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of Feb. 13.

    They are Victoria Bailey, Katilyn Bryant, Nattanan Kultrailak, Nikkita Wilson, Dalton Hughes, Anthony Drew, Wil Price and Jesse Reynolds.

  • Scholarship helps high school students take AP, dual credit classes

    Kentucky high school students may qualify for a scholarship to help pay for dual credit classes taken at a Kentucky college or university or for Advanced Placement courses taken through the Kentucky Virtual High School.
