  • Harmon's adds La-Z-Boy Comfort Studio

    Harmon Furniture, 500 S. Central Ave., has added a new La-Z-Boy Comfort Studio.

    The Comfort Studio features a La-Z-Boy Design Center, which is staffed by design consultants, and provides customers with inspiration, answers and helpful assistance. Two design kiosks allow customers to select from hundreds of La-Z-Boy fabrics and leathers.

  • New senior residents' home opens

    Residents who are 55 and older, physically disabled and have limited incomes now have a new housing option in Campbellsville, thanks to two programs that provide funds for affordable housing construction.

    The 11-unit Poplar Grove Senior Apartment complex, developed by D.L. & Associates Inc. and constructed by Da-Ranco Inc., is located at 201 & 203 Smith St.

    The units were built using funds from the Kentucky Housing Corp., specifically the Small Multi-Family Affordable Loan Program and HOME Investment Partnership Program.

    A ribbon cutting was hosted Dec. 4.

  • TRH has access to robotic physician technology

    University of Louisville Health Care and Taylor Regional Hospital of Campbellsville have announced the development of an agreement to place a remote physician presence robot that will expand the delivery of specialized health care to patients in the Taylor Regional Hospital's service area.

    The agreement is a part of U of L Health Care's growing Central and Western Kentucky Initiative.

  • Health Department open new facility

    Taylor County Health Department, City, County and state officials were on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the health department's new location on the Campbellsville Bypass. The department will open its new location on Wednesday, Dec. 12.

  • Toys for Tots Radiothon set for Friday

    The 2007 Q-104 Toys for Tots Radiothon is set for Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on WCKQ-FM 104.1.

    The drive raises needed money to assist needy children in Taylor County with toys for Christmas.

    Community leaders will join on-air personalities Rob Collins, Cat Michaels and Brandon Reed along with other guests throughout the day to solicit donations.

    This marks the 19th year that Q-104's fundraising efforts have existed.

    Funds raised will go toward the purchase of toys that will be distributed by Campbellsville/Taylor County Rescue on Christmas Eve.

  • Metzmeier honored for his work in long-term care

    Don Metzmeier, a fixture in the Campbellsville nursing home business, was honored with a Chairman's Citation for his years working in long-term care at the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities' Annual Awards Night.

    The Chairman's Citation spotlights an individual who has dedicated their lives to improving the providing quality care to the state's elderly and disabled. The Metzmeier family owned and operated Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville for more than 40 years.

    John Gaines received the Taylor Regional Hospital Hero Award on Nov. 13 at the TRH Annual Service Awards Banquet at Campbellsville University.

    Bill Winfrey received the Taylor Regional Hospital Legend Award on Nov. 13 at the TRH Annual Service Awards Banquet at Campbellsville University.
