  • Campbellsville National opens new building

    Campbellsville National Bank officially opened its new facility on Dec. 14 with a Chamber-sponsored ribbon cutting at its East Broadway location.

    Terry E. Forcht, founder, president and majority share owner of Campbellsville National Bank, said the new building will allow the bank to expand the level of community banking currently offered in Campbellsville.

  • Bertram, Cox & Miller Law office opens

    The combination of a couple of law offices in Campbellsville has also led to the transformation of a familiar, historic building.

    The law offices of Bertram, Cox & Miller, 321 E. Main St., were given a community introduction when the Chamber hosted a ribbon cutting and the law firm hosted an open house Dec. 7.

  • Farm Bureau wins Gold Star Award

    Taylor County Farm Bureau was recognized for its women's program with the 2007 Gold Star Award of Excellence, during the recent Kentucky Farm Bureau annual meeting in Louisville.

    Carol Sullivan, Taylor County Farm Bureau women's committee chair, accepted the award from Cathy Pleasants, Kentucky Farm Bureau state women's chair, during a Dec. 7 recognition and awards program.

  • Taylor Regional Hospital presents service awards to Auxiliary volunteers

    Taylor Regional Hospital Auxiliary volunteers hosted an awards luncheon on Dec. 4 in the TRH meeting room. With 56 workers, the Auxiliary has given a little more than 6,607 volunteer hours in 2007 to assist Taylor Regional Hospital.

    Volunteers work at the information desk, surgery department, emergency department, radiology department, cancer center, greeter and gift shop. The Auxiliary also collects canned food items to be donated to the local food pantry as part of its service to the community.

  • Bethany House welcomes new staff members

    Bethany House Abuse Shelter has three new staff members.

    Carolyn Brady has joined the staff as a counselor, with expertise in the areas of substance abuse counseling and children's counseling. Brady received her master of social work degree from Delaware State University and her bachelor's degree in behavioral science from Barry University in Miami, Fla.

  • TC Chiropractic donates food

    Taylor County Chiropractic, 100 Greenbriar Drive, collected more than 700 pounds of food Nov. 13-28 for the local food pantry. Exams, X-rays and case histories were given at no charge with a minimum 10-can donation to the food bank. Pictured are, from left, Wendy Picket, Dr. Janna Gresham and Rayna Landis.

  • Ware joins Jessie Insurance

    Mike Ware has joined Jessie Insurance, 201 W. Broadway, as an agent.

    Ware, 53, has been in sales for most of his adult life. He was born, raised and educated in Taylor County.

    He started in the retail business in the 1970s at Mitchell's Men's Wear. He has been in fastener sales at Parker-Kalon since the late 1970s and, most recently, with Meaden Precision of Chicago for the past eight years. Ware also has three years of sales experience at Ancil Reynolds Used Cars.

    In recognition of National Lung Cancer Awareness Month, Taylor Regional Hospital hosted a program on lung cancer on Nov. 29.

    The program was presented by Dr. Zewdu Lissanu, medical oncologist at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center at Taylor Regional Hospital.

  • Taylor Regional Hospital opens wound healing center

    Taylor Regional Hospital has opened a Wound Healing Center at 125A Kingswood Drive. The health care specialists at the Wound Healing Center will provide a treatment plan designed specifically for the patients' needs.

    The wound care teams will perform a complete history and physical exam resulting in an individualized treatment plan designed for each patient.
