Taylor County Middle School has received a $10,000 donation from Citizens Bank of Campbellsville and a $10,000 Universal Design for Learning Grant from the University of Louisville.

These funds will be used to purchase new technologies for TCMS classrooms, according to Linda Beal, district technology coordinator.

These technologies will include Dukane LCD projectors and Dukane sound systems mounted in the ceiling, interactive whiteboards and student interactive response systems.

TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky appointed new executive members to the 2008 board of directors. TOUR SEKY is a non-profit tourism organization created by Congressman Hal Rogers.

The new chairman for 2008 is Terry Brown, owner of Emerald Isle Resort in Taylor County. Other members include: Sue Stivers, vice-chair, Adair County Tourism and Chamber of Commerce; Betty Cole, secretary, Knox County Tourism and Chamber of Commerce; and Tony Sloan, treasurer, of Clinton County.

The Double Nickel, formerly the Country Music Stampede, is available to rent for wedding receptions, birthday parties, reunions and more.

The building features all new seating, and a band is available for special functions.

The entertainment business recently changed its name to reflect the change in its music. The Wranglers, the band that operates The Double Nickel, have begun playing mostly southern rock as well as still offering some country music.

Jeff Sprowles has become a partner with Wise, Buckner, Sprowles and Associates, 301 E. Main St.

He is a 1998 graduate of Lindsey Wilson College with a degree in accounting. He was licensed to practice public accounting in 1999. Before joining Wise, Lee & Buckner in January 2007, he was employed at the accounting firm of White & Co., PSC in Lebanon and managed his own practice in Campbellsville.

Sprowles and his wife, Patricia, reside in Campbellsville and have two sons, Sean and Austin.
