  • The Adanta Group awarded three-year CARF accreditation

    CARF International recently announced that The Adanta Group has been accredited for a period of three years for several of its treatment services.
    Services that have received accreditation are outpatient treatment services for mental health for adults, children and adolescents, outpatient treatment for alcohol and other drugs/addictions for adults, children and adolescents, crisis stabilization services for mental health for children and adolescents, out-of-home treatment for mental health for children and adolescents and community housing for integrated DD/MH for adults.

  • Crop report deadline is July 15

    The Taylor County Farm Service Agency reminds farmers that Friday, July 15 is the final day to file an acreage report for crops, including CRP, except for small grain and value-loss crops.
    Crop reports are required for eligibility for certain USDA farm programs.

  • Goodwill job placements near 2010 figure in first seven months of fiscal year 2011

    Goodwill Industries of Kentucky placed 1,654 people in jobs in the first seven months of fiscal year 2011, just three shy of the total number of placements the organization achieved in the year 2010.
    The job creation, training and placement agency for Kentuckians with disabilities or other barriers to employment also paid out $9,222,566 in mission-related wages from September 2010 through April 2011, slightly up from 2010.

    Taylor Regional Hospital hosted its annual community health fair on Saturday, June 11 at Taylor County Middle School. About 1,000 people attended, with 600 receiving discounted lab testing. There were also more than 50 vendors providing health-related information.

  • AT&T invests in Kentucky mobile broadband network

    AT&T and Gov. Steve Beshear recently announced that the company has invested more than $525 million in its Kentucky wireline and wireless networks over the past three years.
    The company will continue to invest in network enhancements as part of AT&T’s planned $19 billion nationwide investment in 2011. This will support plans to enable 4G speeds over a growing portion of the country starting this year along with the launch of LTE beginning mid-year.

  • BBB warns: Watch for calls, invoices from Universal Adcom

    The Better Business Bureau suggests consumers be wary of the company Universal Adcom. Sometimes operating under the business names Hometown Productions and Premier Maps, the company has nearly 400 complaints against it.
    Many of these complaints have been categorized as “serious” by BBB. It should also be mentioned that the majority of complaints to the BBB report multiple complaint issues.
