  • TRH names winter ambassador

    Adams was nominated by a team member. The following was written about Adams on her nomination forms:

    "The pediatrics wing needed someone to ride with EMS to Louisville as an extra set of hands. Donna willingly agreed to go even though it wasn't her department, it was late afternoon and she was unsure of when she would be back from the trip. Donna always strives to make the ER patient comfortable by talking to them and offering the 'warm fuzzies.' She is always eager to assist the nurses and physicians. Donna has a great personality and is fun to be around."

    Taylor Regional Hospital has collected the best recipes from team members, family and friends and compiled them into an attractive keepsake cookbook. These one-of-a-kind cookbooks are currently available for sale for $15.

    They may be purchased at the following locations: Citizens Bank and its two branches, Taylor County Bank main branch, Community Trust Bank and one branch, Forcht Bank and one branch, Mitchell's Men's Wear, Magnolia Alley, PVA Office, Taylor Regional Hospital Gift Shop and the Taylor Regional Hospital Human Resources Department.

  • Kroger East Broadway reopens

    Kroger manager Kevin Taylor and Campbellsville Mayor Brenda Allen cut the ribbon Wednesday morning, Feb. 13 at the grand opening of the remodeled Kroger at 1509 E. Broadway. The remodeling added 2,500 square feet, a drive-through pharmacy, a nutritional center, an improved deli and new refrigeration equipment. The new decor also features an additional express lane and new, faster checkout lane technology. Several door prizes were given away.

  • Cover Me Clothing opens

    Cover Me Clothing Store has opened next to First Baptist Church at 704 E. Broadway. The store is a nonprofit entity for people who are in immediate need of clothing items due to fire, eviction or other emergency situations. Clothing is free for a donation. The store is operated by the church's Mother's Board. Store hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday's and Thursday's.

  • Malone is first runner-up in KAA bid calling

    On Feb. 17, Paul Malone of Campbellsville was named first runner-up in the senior division of the 51st Annual Kentucky Auctioneer Association Bid Calling Contest.

    Malone is principal broker/principal auctioneer of Malone Realty & Auction Co. Inc., 211 E. First St.

    This year's contest, in conjunction with the KAA Convention, was in Bowling Green. The contest is open to all Kentucky auctioneers who are members of the KAA.

  • Taylor Regional Hospital recognized

    Taylor Regional Hospital recently received recognition for achieving a reliability score of 100 percent on the first quarter 2007 hospital validation from Health Care Excel Hospital Quality Initiative.

    Each quarter hospitals nationwide are required to submit quality data to both the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Joint Commission. This data is available to the public at www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov.

    Faye Veatch, RN, quality reviewer at TRH, achieved this distinction for the hospital.

  • Jane Chappell wins Raytheon CEO Award

    Strategic Intelligence Systems Vice President Jane Chappell received the 2008 Raytheon CEO Award in a recent ceremony at the Raytheon Leadership Forum in Boston, Mass.

    Chappell, the former Jane Parrott, is a graduate of Taylor County High and Western Kentucky University and is married to Henry Chappell, also formerly of Campbellsville. Currently living in Plano, Texas, she is the daughter of Joyce C. Parrott of Campbellsville and the late Robert E. Parrott.

    The Raytheon Award honors employees who have exemplified the company's core values and delivered exceptional results.

  • Citizens Bank donates $10,000 to CU

    Citizens Bank & Trust Co. has contributed $10,000 toward the Writing Center at Campbellsville University.

    The mission of the Writing Center is to enhance learning in all content areas by providing extra assistance as needed. Students may receive assistance with writing techniques, editing, proofing and referencing skills.

    Students may also use one of the 15 new computer workstations updated with Windows Vista to enhance various classroom assignments.

  • Local artist supports TRH Gala by completing cookbook cover

    Betty Jo Shuffett of Greensburg recently completed a likeness of Taylor Regional Hospital in support of the hospital's annual Gala.

    Shuffett's artwork will be featured on the cover of a cookbook, which will be sold as a fundraiser in support of the Gala planned for this fall.

    The cookbook is a collection of recipes from TRH team members and will be available for sale in the next month. The cost of the cookbook will be $15.

    Shuffett donated more than half the value of her artwork for use on the cookbook cover.
