Today marks a new era for Campbellsville Health & Fitness Center.

The center opened at its new location at 1951 Old Columbia Road this morning. And with the new location comes new benefits for members.

Wayne Johnson, who owns the center with his wife Marsha, said Campbellsville is about 20 years behind in the fitness industry.

"What Campbellsville has right now is two gyms," Johnson said. "This is going to be a full health club."

Southern States Cooperative has long had a reputation for providing knowledgeable service along with quality products. Now the company has been recognized for excellence in training its employees.

Southern States was named one of the Top 100 learning organizations in the country on March 22 when it received a Learning! 100 Award.

General signup for the Farm Service Agency's Conservation Reserve Program begins today. Signups will continue through April 15.

The Conservation Reserve Program is the largest voluntary private-land conservation program. It helps farmers, ranchers and other agricultural producers use their environmentally sensitive land for conservation purposes. CRP assists in creating new wildlife habitat, enhancing water, soil, and air quality through a variety of covers that can be established on the offered land.

Devona Wright of Cumberland County has been selected as the new regional director of membership sales for Air Evac Lifeteam, an air ambulance service that provides emergency health care and rapid medical transport to rural communities throughout the central United States. Air Evac Lifeteam has a facility in Campbellsville.

Wright is in charge of coordinating Air Evac Lifeteam membership sales and services at the company’s 19 bases in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia.
