The Taylor County Conservation District has announced that fees to pick up dead stock have increased. However, because of grant funds available, the district is able to reimburse the producer all of the pickup cost through June 30.

Producers must bring in the bill from A&S Livestock to receive the reimbursement. Producers who used the service from July 1 up to next May 1 will be reimbursed the difference between the cost share amount they received and the actual cost of the pick up.

Eligible members who have select Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans can receive a basic fitness center membership with which they can enjoy specialized low-impact SilverSneakers fitness classes focusing on improving muscular strength and endurance, mobility, flexibility, range of motion, balance, agility and coordination.

Taylor Regional Hospital hosted its annual Nurse of the Year and annual Nurse Extender of the Year Awards last Monday.

The Nurse of the Year and Nurse Extender of the Year are chosen by their peers. 

LPN Frieda Cox was named Nurse of the Year. Other nominees were LaRee Bell, RN; Dana Blair, RN; and Lisa Haliday, RN.

Cox has been a team member at TRH since 1995. She and her husband, Joe, have four children, Stephanie Nelson, Rebecca Cox, John Cox and the late Karen Cox. They have two grandchildren, Taylor and Blake Nelson.
