Amedisys Home Health in Campbellsville announced that it has been named to the 2011 HomeCare Elite top 500 home health agencies in the country for the third time.
Now in its sixth year, the HomeCare Elite is a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. Winners are ranked by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance. The HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of agencies and further highlights the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall.

Isaac Thompson of Campbellsville has entered a Hereford in the beef division of the 38th annual North American International Livestock Exposition. The world’s largest purebred livestock show, the event takes place at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville on Nov. 5-18.

Taylor Regional Hospital Charity Golf Scramble received a big boost from two local banks. Citizens Bank & Trust Co. and Taylor County Bank were major sponsors of the third annual event. Each bank donated $5,000 toward the purchase of a second van, which will be used to expand the existing free van service offered to TRH patients. 

Taylor Regional Hospital recently announced that Dr. Asser El-Atfy, pulmonologist and sleep medicine specialist, will be leaving the Taylor Regional Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Clinic. His last day in the clinic will be Nov. 10.
El-Atfy has served this region well, and will be greatly missed, stated TRH CEO Jane Wheatley. However, she said, Taylor Regional Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Clinic will continue to be staffed by a qualified pulmonary and sleep medicine physician and remain open for appointments for both pulmonary and sleep-related disorders on the same schedule.
