• Travis "Buck" Giles, 69

    Travis "Buck" Giles, 69, of Speck Ridge Road in Elk Horn died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville after a brief illness.

    Son of the late Van and Irene Giles, he was a retired heavy equipment operator and a farmer.

    He was married to Mildred Giles, who survives.

  • Lenora Shirrell, 88

    Lenora Shirrell, 88, of Adams, Tenn., formerly of Campbellsville, died at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in Adams.

    Daughter of the late John Thomas Wright and Mable Bell Jones Wright, she was born on Jan. 28, 1920, in Adair County, Ky. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church until moving to Clarksville, Tenn. in January 1986. She attended First Baptist Church of Clarksville until her health deteriorated.

    She was married to William B. Shirrell on Dec. 22, 1938. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1976.

  • Amos "Jr. Brown" O'Daniel Jr.

    Amos "Jr. Brown" O'Daniel Jr. of Sellersburg, Ind., died Friday, June 6, 2008, at his home.

    Survivors include a longtime companion, Edith Blackwell of Sellersburg; and a sister, Barbara Abell of Campbellsville.

    The family chose cremation. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Taylor County.

    Fay Wilson, 76, of Campbellsville died at 1:02 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in Campbellsville.

    Daughter of the late Leslie Burris and Inez Dixon Burris, she was born in Adair County, Ky., on Oct. 28, 1931. She was employed by Fruit of the Loom for 39 years and attended Zion Separate Baptist Church.

    She was married to Charles Wilson on March 21, 1950. He survives.

  • Claude Junior Daffron, 67

    Claude Junior Daffron, 67, of Campbellsville died at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at his home.

    Son of Pauline Crouch Daffron and the late Claude Price Daffron, he was born on March 7, 1941 in Wayne County, Ky. He was a member of Hills Chapel Baptist Church.

    Survivors include five daughters, Debbie Bottoms, Melissa Glass, Bernice Ford, Bonnie Skaggs and Jan Tosh, all of Campbellsville; 10 grandchildren; and a brother and six sisters, Eva Spurling, Anna Marie Edelen, Thomas E. Daffron, Betty McCubbin, Barbara Wright, Mary McMahan and Lytha Noel, all of Campbellsville.

    Delphus Frankum, 77, of Columbia, Ky., died at 8:10 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Ky., after a short illness.

    Son of the late Martin Lee and Mary Ethel Loy Frankum of Adair County, Ky., he was a member of Columbia Church of Christ, a farmer and a former employee of Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

  • Mary Lina Gilmore, 94

    Mary Lina Gilmore, 94, of Campbellsville died at 5:07 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in Lebanon, Ky.

    Daughter of the late Thomas Graham and Kate Rice Graham, she was born on April 28, 1914, in Taylor County. She had been employed as a nurse's aid at Metzmeier Nursing Home and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

    She was married to Ralph Lee Gilmore on June 25, 1952. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1981.

    Danny Brown, 59, of Campbellsville died at 7:44 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2008, in Lebanon, Ky.

    Son of the late Jolie Brown and Ethel Stanton Brown, he was born in Taylor County on April 12, 1949. He was a member of Spurlington United Methodist Church and was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom.

    He was married to Carolyn Ann Sexton on Feb. 2, 1974. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2005.

  • Robert L. "Bob" Caulk, 76

    Robert L. "Bob" Caulk, 76, of Campbellsville died at 6:10 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008, in Campbellsville.

    Son of the late W.R. "Dick" Caulk and Ada Maupin Sapp, he was born in Taylor County on Jan. 16, 1932. He was owner and operator of Caulk Aluminum for more than 30 years.

    He was married to Lorene Close on Feb. 10, 1949. She survives.

  • Mary Pauline Curry Patterson, 85

    Mary Pauline Curry Patterson, 85, of Greensburg, Ky., died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky.

    Daughter of the late Howard Curry and Mildred Thompson Curry, she was born on Aug. 20, 1922, in Green County, Ky. She was a member of Greensburg Baptist Church, where she was active in the music department and was a past organ and piano player. She was a retired teacher having taught for 39 years.

    She was married to Elmer Patterson on Jan. 25, 1946. He survives.
